On the back of dryer on the bottom right hand corner is the pump, prise apart the plastic casing and it will probably be full of gunk

There should be a wiring diagram inside console where timer and switches are.

Some thermostats such a cycling thermostat are resettable and automatically cycle on and off based on your temperature setting choices. Others such as a thermal fuse are not resettable and will blow if dryer gets to hot. That type has to be replaced after determining and correcting why it overheated.

If it uses a pilot light check to see if it is lit. If no pilot the electric starter is probably bad. If no pilot does it make light buzzing as it is trying to start, if not the starter is bad.

Maybe the things you are trying to dry are really soaking and it overloads the machine; have you tried hanging them up first to drip?

Could be fuse / thermostat, improper voltage, timer or control, motor, or wiring.

No, check for broken drive belt.

check the exhaust tube externally and internally for excess lint build-up on the sides. You may not have the vent obstructed, but you may have the venting restricted. Clean out lint if there is excess. It may need a good scraping/ brushing to help your machine breathe. Just an extra thought.

The THERMAL Switch is detecting values higher than normal. This is to keep your dryer from over heating and causing a fire. This feature is a PROTECTION built into the dryer circuit and indicates you have a bad dryer heater needing replacement. At some point, you may be blowing a circuit breaker which is the second line of defense. Rather than having a FIRE...get a repair man to fix the Dryer NOW!

most switches have the thermostat as part of the switch check that or replace the thermostat

open the door and push in on the door switch to see if it's ok,it should click and the light should go off when you push it in,if not the switch is bad and the dryer won't start,if that's ok you have to get in there with a meter to check the t-stats,unplug it first,also if the belt broke the dryer won't run,there's a belt switch that stops the dryer from running if the belt broke.usually if the dryer hasn't been taken apart and cleaned out the thermal fuse will pop,this is a safety so if the dryer runs to hot the fuse pops,you have to clean out the dryer,the duct that the lint filter slides down into and the vent line has to be cleaned,do this once a year and you'll have less problems with the dryer and you won't have a fire.
