My kitchen aide dishwasher has water in the bottom which accumulates about 20 minutes after a cycle is complete. I called a repair who came out and took some debri from the drain and part of a broken class. Prior to doing this, he hit a bottom on the front of the dishwasher and all the water was pumped out of the dishwasher in a matter of seconds. After he left, the dishwasher again had water in the bottom after completing a full load of dishes was washed. This occurred about 30 minutes after the clean dishes were removed. I think the problem is a defective disposal . We bought a new disposal to be put in next week. Until, then do you know what button the repairman pushed to remove all the water from the bottom of the dishwasher. If I knew this, I could continue using the dishwasher. Thanks

SOURCE: Dishes not clean

If your dishwasher is cleaning poorly, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Internal filters
Drain valve
Spray arms
Water temperature
Detergent cup
Water-inlet valve Most cleaning problems are caused by the dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

When a water-inlet valve is defective, you may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it.

Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve Replacement

Be sure to read and understand any instructions that come with the new water inlet valve.

Adjustable wrench

SOURCE: My 6 yr old Kitchen Aid dishwasher is leaving food residue

After checking all sprayer arms for clearance, and checking heating element and discharge pump, the problem was solved by replacing the small sprayer arm at the top of the washer. This small arm had popped off some time ago - obviously the water pressure was excessive for the small and unimpressive fastener. Luckily we had saved this piece, which I refastened with a strong aluminum non-corroding small bolt. Presto - now the water distribution is back to design specs, with sufficient water coming out under pressure from the mid level arm. Lesson: always look for the simplest cause first with the simplest solution. TCA

SOURCE: I have a Kitchen Aid

Hi Ben. Since you just replaced the disposal, begin by checking the entire length of the drain hose, from the drain pump in the lower front of the dishwasher to the disposal. If that hose is kinked, or has an extreme bend in it, that alone could be the problem. Joe

Is there a way to get the water is described in the video out of this dishwasher. Kitchen aide w103111238

I like the way you call the fishies in your washer! Seriously, there are three probable causes. First, pull off the spinner, bottom plate and yank the filter screens. Clean them thoroughly and look for clogs below them. Next, look for the water level sensor that detects water in the bottom and keeps the flush pump running as long as there is. Make sure it cycles up and down. Finally, make sure you hear the pump running when the draining cycle starts...

My kitchen aid dishwasher has an off odor and is leaving a residue on the dishes. what should I do?

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher runs for about 2 hours. Is this normal

It depends on your water pressure. Mine runs a cycle in about 25 minutes, with 92 psi water pressure. Before changing all the pipes in my house, I had about 30 psi and it took about 45 minutes. The longer it takes to fill, the longer it takes to do a wash.

Kitchenaid dishwasher - door will not latch

The latch needs to be replaced. Kitchen Aid has made two updates to this latch. I.E. 2-revised latches. I just replacd the latch assembly and the dishwasher works fine now. Do a search for kitchen aid repair parts online and hav them shipped to your home. The repair takes five minutes. Un-screw all torx bit screws on door and the latch is under neath. One electrical dip switch held on by another screw and a two prong tab to undo the old latch. This seriously took me five minutes to repair and the parts were $40.00 online shipped.

Hope his helps.
