Check the level of black ink. Make sure the black cartridge is not empty. If it is empty, replace it.

Cannon Pixma MP780 won't print. Just replaced black ink cartridge, do I have to replace all of them for it to print

Not normally but the black print head nozzles maybe blocked.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Quicken 2008 won't print anything in reports in black

You need to replace the Black cartridge, as it appears the colour one is fine. Look in the printer options on your PC for a display of ink levels, and you'll probably find the black down to zero. If you've used generic cartridges, not genuine HP, you may find the printer can't actually read the ink levels.

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

My MFC290C printer will not print in black. I changed the ink and it still won't print black. I changed the color of the type and it will print in colors, just not black. I ran the cleaning cylce...

You need to call Brother at 1-877-brother and tell them your mfc is "missing black". They will tell you where to take it to get the print head replaced under Brothers' warranty. This is a VERY common problem and Brother will cover the cost to repair it.

Do i have to have toner for all colors if I just want to print black and white?

It is like he says. My 9420cn uses all the colos even if the machine just prints out received faxes. Its really annoing and costs too much.

So does anyone know a solution how to stop it from using all colors to print black?

New print head, won't print

If it's a Canon machine, you will need a purge unit. If it doesn't clean and prime properly, it
will just give you blank paper.
