Yes, you will need to replace the Fresh Food Cover Inlet Assembly. A link to the part is below for your convenience. If you need removal instructions, please let me know. The new part will come with installation istructions. It is pretty easy to replace as it is replaced as an assembly.

Water freezing

Hi,

Freezing happens when damper door breaks leaving the unit with no control over the very cold air entering fresh food compartment from the freezer.
The damper door (DIFFUSER) is located at the very top left of your refrigerator section in back. It has a motorized door that opens and close's and it may be stuck open. More than likely it is broken and needs to be replaced.

Replace damper door , with new damper door kit WR17X11508

http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=1055112.

To verify the damper door is broken , remove the light shield and rear light bulb from the top of the refrigerator. Enter the factory diagnostic mode by pushing all four temperature control buttons at the same time. Perform damper motor test (FZ 1 , FF 0). Press any other button i.e. Custom cool or filter reset to start damper test cycle. Shine flashlight through right hand side opening of light assembly to view movement of damper door. To exit test mode (FZ 1 , FF 6). lf damper door assembly needs to be replaced , pull top two shelves out 2 ". Pull rear tower assembly slightly forward with both hands, move to the left and the right to expose the two screws that secure the duct assembly , also remove both screws that secure the duct to the ceiling. Replace with new damper motor assembly WR17X11508

Frigidaire plhs267za is to cold and frezzing the food. what do I check

Good Morning friend, thanks for your post!

From what you have described your Frigidaire refrigerator is too cold and freezing food. I would recommend you check the temperature to make sure it is set to a factory setting of 0 for the freezer and 37 for the fresh food side. You can also check to make sure that there is not food in the freezer blocking the damper from closing. The damper is located near the top of your refrigerator.

Place you hand in the rear of your fresh food compartment to feel if the air is too cold or the damper periodically closes. This could be the cause of your refrigerator freezing your food. If you damper is not working properly you may need to replace it. If your damper appears to be in working order your thermostat or control panel could be the issue. I would suggest having a professional out to perform a diagnosis. If you do not have a professional contact you should visit your manufacturer's website to locate a technician in your area. Good luck. -Matt

Water condensating in refrigerator side

Check for any air leaks within the unit's door and seal area. See if you notice any blockages in the damper door or switch that is between the two doors. Then contact a professional.

My Maytag side by side refrigerator [mod. #MSD2656KES, Serial #50518503JL] is freezing everything on the frig side on the two top shelves. Coils have been cleaned. Temp set:Freez=3, Frig=2. One week ago...

I have this same refrigerator, also purchased in 2006. Same exact problem. Fridge freezes, starting actually in the water line, you will notice water on door does not work, then top two shelves start to freeze. Lasts for a few days, then prob does not happen again for 6 months almost to the day. I've had this problem for almost 3 years!!! My service tech said to buy another, glitch in this system he can't figure out. Replaced damper x2, control board, and thermostat x2. Not sure what else to do. I hate the thought of more food lost to spoilage!

FOOD ON MIDDEL SHELVES IS STARTING TO FREEZ

you need to send model number next time, cold air from the freezer is blown into the fridge section in this area,on some models there's a damper that controls this, the damper door doesn't close all the way when the temp.is cold enough still letting the cold air in and then food starts freezing.you'll see a tag with a model number on the left or right side up near the ceiling in the fridge section that will have the model number, you need this to order parts and to look up your machine

Ge profile refrigerator PSS27SGNA BS....unit's refrigerated section keeps freezing food. even after we've adjusted the temp up to 36 or 37(recommended) it stays at 30 and keeps ruining the produce.

Check the air damper at the back top left of the fresh foods section to see if the damper door has broken and thus not able to close. It is electrically operated, but if it breaks, you can have your exact condition occuer.
