Unplug the machine. Pull the machine out. Remove all the paper trays. Open all the doors. Remove the Toner. Get a flashlight and look for a small piece of torn paper from a previous jam that was torn when pulled out. Clean the rubber feed rollers with a damp soapy cloth, rinse and leave to dry. Reassemble the machine. Put in new paper from an unopened pack as paper can get damp this time of year. Reconnect power. Try again.
Have you tried a new toner cartridge, The toner cartridge has moving parts, and of the cartridge gets stuck, the printer may indicate a paper jam.
Also paper often tears when clearing jams, and the little shreds of paper can stay in the rollers of the printer and keep it jammed. Make sure to inspect all the rollers to make sure they move freely, and do not have anything stuck in them.
Please try these general troubleshooting steps for paper jam issue: Turn off your printer to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely. Remove the rear access door and check the pressure rollers. Verify that they are clean and clean the rollers with a soft towel if needed. Check if there is any jammed paper in this section and remove the jammed paper from the rear access door opening. Make sure that there are no torn pieces of paper in the fuser area and duplexer slot. Check if the carriage moves freely. Use both your hands to remove the paper that is stuck in the roller in order to avoid tearing of the sheet. Discard any paper that is damaged, and then reload the paper into the paper tray. Unlock the print cartridge access door. Check if there is any packaging material or paper debris stuck on the small metal pressure rollers that ride on the main feed roller. Do not mix different types of paper. Load only one type of paper for a print job. Make sure that the paper meets the paper-handling specifications. Slide the paper-length adjuster against the end of the paper stack and do not overfill the input tray. Connect the power cord and turn on your printer. Try to print a sample and if the error persists, then try to reset the printer. Try to update the driver. If nothing works, then service the printer. 123 HP COM Setup Printer Quick Setup and Install Support
e2 is a paper jam problem. check that the paper guides in the cassette are positioned aginst the paper properly. Also remove the toner and drum cartridge. Clean all rubber rollers that you can get to with a damp cloth ( water). You are especially trying to clean the upper and lower registration rollers that "pinch" the paper. I hope that this helps.
Use flashlight to shine inside of all possible visible areas of printers. Especially to the very right or very left. I'm sure you will find something. Remove it

I had the same problem- jam error with no paper in it. I tried all of the suggestions to no avail. So as a last resort before I went and purchased another one I unplugged it, picked it up, turned it upside down and whacked it a few times. To my surprise when I plugged it back up it worked just fine! Haven"t had any problem since. I don"t reccomend this but as a last resort, what the heck!
