I have a jura capresso f9... seems the touchscreen is sensitive to the steam that rises while making a cup of coffee and will sometimes result in changing the type of cup and/or brew selected... is there a fix for this [aside from gently holding something like a towel over the touchscreen to ward off the steam]?.

There are two heaters in the Z5.. one for coffee, one for steam.
Sounds like you have a fault with the steam heater.

Apparently after a few yrs of use the steam wafting up from a cup of coffee works its way into the electronics touch screen mechanism causing it to turn on by itself...since moisture is such a good conductor for electricity it seems like there is a "ghost in the machine"...credit "The Police" band for that quote...my simple solution was a 6-7 dollar desk fan purchased from Walmart and point it up across the front of the unit...problem solved!...just keep the fan running while you use the unit and save a bundle of $$ not having to send it back to Jura!...Bob in SC

so long as it does not leak once turned on the shape should have no impact on steaming. It may be a little harder to achieve microbubbles but so long as you are only concerned about hot milk and some foam it should be fine.

I own a Jura Capresso S8 espresso machine which has been wonderful except for the pump that makes the froth. I sent it back to be repaired once already, at the tune of $250.00. Now it seems to have gone again, and this time it will cost me $275.00 to have it repaired. Anything I can do myself?

The only sources I have been able to find are in Europe. They do not always wish to ship to the US however. In the US the dealers always want the repair, but seldome wish to sell parts outright. Try this website for parts.
