Set Up Firewall Protection
You can set up firewall filters and firewall alert notifications on your wireless home network. You
can also block Java Applets, Cookies, ActiveX controls, popup windows, Proxies, and website
access. See Protection Level for more information.
To set the firewall protection level:
1. From any screen, click the Firewall-Protection Level menu link or click the Firewall menu
button on the SBG6782-AC Main Menu and then select Protection Level.

2. Click the Firewall Protection Setting drop-down button to select the firewall protection level.
Possible values: Low, Medium, High, or Off
Note: Selecting Off will disable firewall protection on your home network. Your computer(s)
and other Ethernet-enabled devices on your network will be at risk for possible attacks from
viruses and hackers.
3. Select each Web filter that you want to set for the firewall and then click Apply.

LOTS TO CHECK

Check if the LAN cable has been correctly connected, if the SMTP server is ready for communication, if the network settings
such as sub-net mask setting are correct, or if the E-mail address of the destination is correct.

LAN cable has not been connected, or failed to communicate with
the SMTP server. You tried to transmit the document to an incorrect destination address.


A LAN cable is not connected. Check that the LAN cable is connected correctly. The network of the network multifunction
machine and the PC with the IP address of the destination mismatch.Confirm whether the network settings of the PC and the network settings of the network multi-function machine pose a
network-type problem.The network settings in the PC have
not been set correctly.Check the TCP/IP settings of the PC.
The network board of the PC with the IP address of the destination has failed. Replace the network board or the PC. Power is not being supplied to the HUB. Supply power to the HUB. A cross-type network cable is not being used for Peer-to-Peer connection.
Use a cross-type cable. The network cable is disconnected. Replace the network cable. Network load in the destination PC is
too high. Check whether a mail with large size data is received in the destination PC, or a large file is downloaded from the Web.
There is too much transmission data. If the scan resolution is set high, scan fewer pages. The access is limited by the firewall
(Windows Firewall) of the network connection in the PC.
Consult with the network administrator, and change the firewall (Windows Firewall) settings of the network connection.

Have you got high security settings on your virus protection/ firewall? If you have got high settings selected your firewall may prevent you from seeing pages on the internet.

Wireless Router:


1. Make sure you are using a "broadband" internet connection, such as high speed cable or DSL. Slower connection types, such as dial-up, may not work properly with the Wii console. 2. Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. Be sure to try both channels if the first one you try does not work. This can potentially increase the download speed. (The "Channel" setting is typically found in the "Wireless" section of your router's setup utility.)
3. Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off. Wireless keyboards and mice may also cause interference.


4. If this error occurs regularly, it is may be a connection problem related to the firewall settings of your wireless router. It may be necessary to disable wireless security on the router. 5. Are you using a Netgear brand wireless router? Our expeirence shows disabling the "SPI Firewall" of the router may help the connection. The "SPI Firewall" option is typically found under the "WAN Setup" tab of the router's settings. Configuring the Firewall for Gaming
By default, the SBG900 firewall is disabled.
If, as recommended, you enable the firewall, refer to the game’s documentation to ensure that the necessary ports are open for use by that game.
The pre-defined SBG firewall policies affect X-Box LiveTM as follows:
LOW: XBox Live data can pass through the firewall. No user action is required.
MEDIUM or HIGH: To enable X-Box Live traffic to pass, you must configure:
• Choose Custom on the Firewall > POLICY — basic Page • UDP 88:88 and UDP/TCP 3074:3074 on the Firewall > POLICY — advanced Page
Configuring Port Triggers
Because the SBG has pre-defined port triggers for games using any of the following applications, no user action is required to enable them:
• DirectX 7 and DirectX 8 • MSN Games by Zone.com • Battle.net®
For a list of games supported by Battle.net, visit http://www.battle.net.
You may need to create custom port triggers to enable other games to operate properly. If you set custom port triggers and enable the firewall, you must customize the firewall to allow traffic through those ports.
To create custom port triggers, use the Gateway > PORT TRIGGERS — custom Page.

Try to update you r os to the max, disable any firewall olny the windows firewall should be on, check internet security settings they must be too high. restore internet settings, go to advance on internet properties, choosse restore factory settings.
