The newer technology has design issues due to the confined space where all the components are and not well ventilated. A good number of LCDs failed due to overheated components, specially in the power supply circuitry; once this parts become dry or leaking the LCD will fail to power up.
It seems like the power supply is defective on your LCD. Replacing or repairing it should fix your power up problems.
