I have a Canon MP980 and Im having trouble with it because when I try setting it up an error code apears that says C000.

Error C000 has also been known to be caused by poorly seated or unseated ink tanks. Another method that can be used to try and fix Error C000 is to open the printer door and make sure that all of the printer's ink tanks are properly seated.

Try switching printer off then unplugging the power for 15 or so minutes. If that doesn't work and same error pops up when you turn printer back on, contact Canon.

Try turning off both the computer AND the printer. When it restarts, the two will reset and recheck and communicate.

i thnik you need to update its driver

It is not the bad cartridges or ink. Something is interferning with the printer internal mechanisms. Try this fix:

Error code C000. Cancel printing, and turn off the machine. Then clear the paper jam or foreign object that is preventing the Print Head Holder from moving.

Disconnect the power cord from the printer or at the wall outlet or both.
Open the paper output tray and then lift up the scanning unit cover until it locks into position.
CAUTION: The orange protective tape may prevent you from opening the paper output tray

After the orange tape and plastic have been removed, remove the print head packaging (if it hasn't been removed already). 1.Close the scanning unit cover.Reconnect the power cord and then power on the printer.

According to the Canon website there are three possible reasons for this error:

Issue: ERROR LCD: Error Code 5100

1. Press ON switch to reset the multifunction device 2. Remove packing material MP980 (I think this is referring to the packing materinal when you first open the printer) 3. The MP980 may require repair
