I can print to the printer wireless, but i can not scan anything from the printer to my computer. When i am in the control panel for scanners i try clicking on properties for the Brother but it says " the properties for this item in not available". Do i have to re install the printer, how can i scan to my computer?

Plug your computer to the printer via USB cable, then turn off the printer... and turn it back on again, short term fix but works for me ...

I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

Hi

You can go to your program files on Drive C: when you explore your computer, look for the icon for scanner on Canon folder and right click on it, you can either copy and drag it on your desktop or right click and create a shortcut.

your problem is on the "ultra side bus"
it's not connected....
try to update your USB driver, maybe it's not support the old version

Epson scanner cannot communicate

My solution was that Epson Scan was set to connect via network instead of local. (All was working fine, then it quit-something changed this setting) Try this, go to start, choose all programs, choose Epson folder, choose Epson Scan, choose Epson Scan Setting. In the pop up box set the connection to local or network, whichever is appropriate. Close the window and open photoshop and all works fine. It could be that your problem is the opposite of mine- I try switching this to the other setting even if the change is wrong, then switch it back to see if that works too.

Lexmark X4550 Scanner not working

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Do i need software like ocr so that the lexmark x6650 scanner can work

If you are scanning documents for editing or saving them as PDF, you will need to install the OCR scan software. The Lexmark OCR scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to request for one.

I have a Canon Pixma MX882? How do I scan to my computer?

In this case Try to Do a Wia scan i will tell u how..........
Windows Vista: Go to Start/All Programmes/Windows Photo Gallery...........
There you will see an option saying File click on that and now on the drop down click on Import from Scanner or Camera.........Select ur scanner from that list and click on Import.............
If it doesnt scan and does the same thing it insists that there should be a Problem with the scanner.........
If that works..........
Software Problem.............
Uninstall and Reinstall the software................

I have a Lexmark 5400 printer with a scanner combined. The printer works fine, but when it comes to scanning it tells me cannot retrieve application list, is there anything I can do to get it to working...

I am having issues scanning. When I load a sheet in to scan I get a "No Computer Connected" and " No Scan Options" I have no problem printing from my PC?

if driver installed normaly, you can scan with photoshop, from menu import from - your scanner.
You can see in control panel in folder scanners and imageing devices, if you can see yhere your scanner, so it normal.

Nothing helps. Print servers are capable of connecting a multifunction printer for printing capabilities only. For scanning, you have to connect directly to the Computer or by a Multifunction printer with wireless capabilities.
