SOURCE: airlink adapter and att router access problems

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers for both your mini usb adapter and your router.

The 64 bit version of windows 7 may not have the right driver for your equipment.

Will get better with time.

Good luck.

Wireless antenna or wireless router

Did your ISP Boingo supply you with a DSL or cable modem with a built-in wireless router? If only a DSL or cable modem is supplied and you wish to connect to the Internet by wireless then you need to connect a wireless router to this DSL or cable modem.

You can connect to the Internet using a LAN cable from your laptop to the DSL or cable modem.
If your laptop as a built-in wireless card you can to the Internet via the wireless router.
If you laptop does not have a built-in wireless card then you can install a PCMCIA wireless card into the card slot of your laptop to the Internet via a wireless connection.

My wireless won't connect to the internet. The switch is on. The laptop can connect when I use a cable.

Try downloading the latest drivers from Toshibas site
If that fails, open the base of the laptop (should be a cover there), check that the wireless card is installed and the two wires that attach on push posts are present and attached. One is black (main) the other white (aux).

In device manager, check that the wireless hardware is detected, if it is not seen and the card is presnt and connected, the wireless controller has failed, or the card itself is damaged and will need replacing.

My wireless adapter does not detect any reception from the router. i have another laptop at home that could easily detect reception from the router. what should i do?

since the laptop is connecting to the router and is having the internet access as well then clearly the problem is with the adapter or with the pc using the adapter.

Following steps can be considered :-
1)If the PC is using OS as windows XP then , click on start menu and then go to control panel and then open network connections from there.
2)Under network connections an option for wireless connection exist , right click on that option and then click on properties.
3)Under wireless network connection properties there are three tabs general , wireless network and advanced.
4)Left click on wireless network tab and check the box which says use windows to configure my wireless setting's and click OK at the bottom.
5)Then , Right click again on wireless network connection and then left click on view available wireless network.
6)List of available networks will be there , select the network you use and try connecting to it , if it gets connected then the internet access will be there.

Dell Inspiron 1525 not connecting wirelessly to Sky broadband

If your wireless router is configured with SSID, encryption, MAC address filtering (if enabled) etc. then the Dell wireless card needs to be configured with these settings to allow it to communicate with the wireless router.
Check the settings on your PC's wireless settings, and configure the Dell the same way.

Wireless connection is detected, but will not connect

If your other laptop is working fine, then have a look at the configuration of the wireless card and use the same configuration on the one that is not working.
Depending upon your wireless card make there is a program that enable you to setup the wireless card. Go to Start - Programs to locate this program. If your wireless card is built-in refer to your Acer manual.
Encryption is setup on the wireless router and these settings are also used to configure the wireless card. If the encryption is already setup, changing the encryption will affect your other wireless card, therefore all the wireless cards will need to be reconfigured with the new encryption to work with the wireless router.

Can't set up wireless on IBM Thinkpad

If I recall there are two types of wireless cards that are installed in the T40 series of laptops. Can't advise you which one is installed in your laptop. Download both of them and install one, it it doesn't work then install the other one.

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop,
You need to use a computer that has Internet access to download and transfer the files to your computer.

http://www.ibm.com/products/finder/us/finders?pg=ddfinder&cm_re=other-_-suprcn-_-download

Once you get the wireless card operation, you need a wireless router that is connected to a cable or DSL modem which is connected to an Internet Service Provider.
You don't need a wireless router if you only want to connect to the Internet using wireless Hot Spots in public locations or Internet cafes.

My Toshiba SP6000 cannot enable the wireless network connection when the wireless pc-card is inserted. I intend to network my laptop to my computer for broaband purposes. Please help

Hi Alirahmani26,

From what I've gathered here, you're trying to use a wireless card on your laptop to connect to the Internet through your desktop computer. Are you using a wireless router somewhere in there? Or are you wanting to connect to the Internet FROM your laptop THROUGH your desktop computer? If the latter, are you planning to connect the laptop with a Cat-5 cable or with the wireless connection?
