Fischer Paykell 7.5kg Smart Drive top load washer

Hi My FP 7.5 kg washing machine will not commence to wash. When the power button is depressed the lights come on the display panel but will not start to wash when I press start. What can I do to get it to start? I have tried turning off power Regartds Barry

    Hi I can not find a switch in the lid of the machine. Where is the switch under the motor controller and the motor controller located at ?? Thanks for your help Barry

    machine comes on lits up but then the water doesn't start in cme in. If I forward it to spin etc nothing happens either!!!!

Have you checked the lid micro switch under the motor controller which activates when you close the lid to start the machine?

    Open the lid so its vertical and lift it of,you should see a little plunger which the lid activates when it is closed,you can activate it with your finger,and test the machine.

This sounds like a similar fault I repaired on a Fisher Paykell top loader smart drive. It would fill up, start it's wash cycle (you'd hear the engine turn back and forth ) and a second later stop. It turned out that a position sensor on the motor had failed due to a small water leak. I'm unable to find the motor for your model of Frigidaire to see if there is a similar sensor or pick up module though.

After power outtage my f/p washer is dead -no lights nothing
Only reset is to unplug it. Are you sure you have power at the outlet? If you have 120V at the outlet the power surge may have blown the controller, not a cheap fix :(

Smart drive washing machine not filling properly?
sounds like you do have a solenoid problem undo hoses from back of machine check the filters are not blocked also check at the tap end to see if filter are cleare if all filters are clear most likely you will have to replace you inlet valves assuming there is no problem with pcb board.

Smart drive 5.5 washing machine lights show power on but no go
OK Problem located (without Diagnostics) , the problem was a faulty START/PAUSE button. I took the display board apart and fiddled with the button (whilst the power was UNPLUGGED) Starts almost every time, when it does`nt fiddle some more.
