Some careful typing and model numbers might illuminate the question a bit.

Have you adjusted the speaker levels according to the manual?

Also, bass is heavily dependent on nearby surfaces. Experiment with placement of the sub. Find a spot near a corner.

What inputs does the TV have?
Otherwise experiment with these options:
DENON---------->>-------TV
Stereo jackplug phones out->>-RCA phono inputs.
RCA phono outputs->>-RCA phono inputs.
Stereo jackplug->>-AV.RF converter RCA phono inputs->>-ANT.in.
RCA phono outputs->>-AV.RF converter RCA phono inputs->>-ANT.in.

No bass from Bose AM 15 Sub

Sub will only work in surround mode, not stereo mode. Also source must have sub component (5.1, 7.1, 9.1 etc) If your system was transmitting sub signal before, be sure you have chosen a mode which includes a sub signal.

I have a Bose powered sub woofer, which I would like to connect to a pioneer receiver, the subwoofer (model 2683) connection has a four pronged connection (yellow white red blank) and the receiver has a...

Hi,sorry but you can not connect it directly like other sub-woofers..
Bose 2683 Powered Subwoofer is part of Bose Lifestyle 5 system, Please note that you will need the 5-pin DIN cable that connects the subwoofer to the base or "Music Center". and the 4 pronged connections for its own stereo speaker output not input from another stereo..
Sorry....but if you can arrange some handy man nearby ,he may get into the DIN cable to locate the subwoofer signal 2x input leads than you can use that leads for connecting into single sub woofer out let of your system...otherwise try to sell BOSE which can easily buy brand new up to date powered sub..

Some weeks ago the sub stopped working. Thought dog had chewed the coaxial driver cable, but not shorted (now). Tried another sub w/o success.

Hi, I went to the Denon website and they have no documentation there for your receiver.
But do not frown, I have some good suggestions for you.
0 Don't beat the dog. After all, it's their job to chew things.
1 Get a new, un-chewed cable and see what happens between the sub output and the sub woofer. If it works, your in business. If it does not work. Don't be discouraged . Go to step #2
2 If the sub output on the Denon has failed, and everything else is good. There is another way to use your sub.
Install a patch system using the Headphone output from the front of the Denon. It may seem odd, but it works exceptionally well for the following reasons. It works on all signal sources. So if you are not playing a home theater source, you still have the use of your sub.
You will need the following adapters.
1 A Male stereo phone jack to female mini-phone jack. (Something that would accept typical small headphone sets such as those on an iphone).
2 A stereo "Y" connector that that has a single stereo male mini-phone jack that has two "RCA" female jacks.
3 A simple RCA male to male stereo cable pair as is commonly used to connect CD players, etc. i.e. separate red and white RCA connectors at both ends.
1 and 2 above may be available as a single unit combined with each other.
Take these adapters and connect the Item 1 into the Receiver, Item 2 plugged into Item 1, Item 3 plugged into Item 2 and finally the other end of Item 3 plugged into the two female RCA jacks mounted onto the back of the sub-woofer. If the sub only has one female RCA connector, get a RCA "Y" connector that has a single male end to 2 female ends.
This setup will work perfectly with any sub. The reason is as follows. Most decent subs have an adjustable high frequency cut off. So you can vary it from about 20Hz up to about 140 Hz.
I recommend that it is cut off at 80 hz. This way the bass transition is usually seamless between the woofer and the rest of the system. .
Then adjust the woofer volume control in a similar manner.
If it all works out, give the dog a treat and enjoy yourself.
I really hope this helps, I love my sub woofer as well.
Let me know how this turns out.
If you have any questions please post them on the site and I'll get back to you ASAP.
Best Regards,
Mark

Denon / MK Sub Hookup

you can do this one of two ways, you can use just the left "mono" on your sub or use a y connector. If the sub doesn't show the left as mono then YES you need a y cable

Hooking up the sub

To connect the passive sub you have to connect the provided wires to the receiver then to the sub's inputs and from the sub's outputss to the cube speakers. It seems complicated but you'll see that is very easy if you lokk at the sub's connection panel.
Hope that i helped...

Best Way ti connect a Denon AVR-1602 Surround Sound system with a Bell Express View Satlite reciever and Plasma TV

lets see, 3100 has no digital out, so you need analog inputs for the audio. Best picture with the 3100, use S-video. Digital input for the DVD sound and S-video in for picture. OOPS....does your TV have a S-Video input ?. If not then you have to use the RCA standard video type connector, as this particular denon doesnt do up or down conversion to or from S-video to old style RCA.

Sorry for the late response.....Rob

PS.....the HD bell wont do you any good with this receiver nbecause it doesnt have component video inputs. Enjoy Bells' superior picture with regular TV . Its way better than cable. Rob
