Bose Companion 3 Computer Speakers Questions & Answers
All things are connected but
First question, are all the volume controls turned up, hardware and Windows. Next, hook up the speakers to a CD player, ipod, etc and make sure they work. If they don't, contact the tech support for Bose at 1-800-999-2673.
If they do work, then it might be an issue with your sound card. Check for updates and run Windows updates. Also, plug in some different speakers and see if they work, if they don't it's an issue with your sound card.
Control Pod for Bose Companion 5 speaker system
I had the same problem right out of the gate, the volume dial on my control pod for my Companion 5 wasn't working, however, the touch pad and LED worked. I called Bose customer service and was instructed to:
First, unplug the power directly at the back of the woofer while the unit was on;
Next, I was instructed to unplug the control pod, visually inspect for any damage/defect;
Finally, re-seat the control pod on the back of the woofer and then lastly plug the power cable back into the woofer.
It worked like a charm. I hope this is helpful!

I have Bose® Companion® 2 Series I
Each device is different.
If the receptacle for the plug is not marked, you have few options.
I suggest the following.
Go buy the exact same setup from a store you can easily return it to.
Take the whole box to Radio Shack and explain that you need a power supply to replace the power supply in the box. They will sell you one, plug and all, for about $10-15.
If you have a DVM (Digital Volt Meter), you can check the voltage and polarity yourself, and buy what you need, test it out, and install it.
