My EMachine HDMonitor keeps power cycling. It will not come completely on. I tried cutting the PC off and then back on, It still does it. I tried switching cords, no luck. It doesn't even go into standby (Yellow Circle). It just powers on (Blue Circle) for 3secs, then cuts off, and repeat.

Your power/inverter board is in need of an overhaul.
The capacitors are failing and possibly a transistor.
If the screen showed any redness or pink whebn it was working, Then there is a slight chance that one or more of the 4 lightbulbs in the screen was going bad and finally went.
If you take it apart and send me a picture, I may be able to tell by looking at it.
I repair these boards on ebay

I have more or less the same problem. Mine only stays on for a second though, but it started out like yours. I took it apart and found that the CCFL bulbs at the top of the screen were so poorly put together that they arced out and in the end melted the end of the back panel bulbs off. The monitor only lasted a year and a half and now it's toast unless I can find new back panal bulbs.
If the screen feels excessivly hot around the corners or if you here a snapping noises (arcing) yours is going the same route as mine. If you want to get rid of yours I'll take it.

SOURCE: Emachine Monitor comes on a few minutes and cuts back off

I have the same problem and I think its the circuit board on the power on button and blue led. I unplug the board when the monitor is on and then the monitor stays on and works OK.
It don't make any sence it is only 3 parts switch led connector

Smeg sca130p. Interlock wont release after running through pyrolytic cycle. Tried running through cycle again but still wont open hours after cycle completed.

Cut the power to it completely, so if its on a breaker, press the test button on that breaker. Wait 3 minutes and put power back on. Has it cleared the problem?

I have an eMachine desktop/tower 3230. I need bios upgrade for extra Ram ...

Hello visit emachine here:

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/default.aspx

And select your pc model by number.

Remember to select the right model, because flashing the bios with a wrong one will destroy the mainboard.

I have newer heard that a bios upgrade was necessary to upgrade the ram.

Some mainboards do have a limit of 2gb ram, and the bios upgrade does nothing to that.

Try to clean the pc out for dust, and renew the the cooling paste between the cpu and the cooling element.

One of the ram modules could have a defect.
Try to test one module at the time.
If you get the blue screen of death, the problem is elsewhere like power supply, or harddrive.

Good luck

My emachine desktop monitor keeps cutting on and off by itself. What should I do?...it's really aggravating.

Hi,

There are three possible reasons for the issue:
1. Monitor power cable is loose
2. Video Adapter is faulty
3. Monitor capacitor is gone bad

Please try the below steps to diagnose the issue:
1. Check the power cable on the back on Monitor, if connected properly, like connect the power cord on a different Wall outlet
2. Unplug the signal cable from the video adapter and replug it. Also, check a different monitor (if any) on the Tower.
3. If the above steps fails, then the issue is with the monitor, it is going for repair.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

My new eMachine keeps crashing. I walk away with items open and when I come back, it has done an unscheduled reboot - like someone walked by and pulled the plug except it does come back on on its own. ...

Open Control panel (switch to classic view). Double click on "Power Options" (green cell in Vista) and select 'High Performance'.

If its already set to High Performance settings, inspect the cables especially at the jacks as they may be loose.

You have to make sure the electricity does not cut randomly and if it does, use a UPS (with adequate rating eg 400 Watt PSU needs 400/06=650VA UPS) or an inverter.

When the PSU (power supply unit) is failing it can cause the system to restart randomly until it fails completely taking away the motherboard with it.

At this stage you should not open the case but try the steps I have suggested.

Note that in addition to the above a software conflict may be forcing the system to reboot. If the problem persists, contact E-machines as you are within the official 1 year warranty period.

My emachine 4210 powers up but it cuts it sefl off

Check the power cable connections and make sure they are tight. If they are ok then i would say you have a bad power supply.

Emachine 3240 possible power problem?

I would suggest try to swap the power supply out with another known good power supply.

I've seen where even though the light on the motherboard is lit, it is not getting enough power to start the machine up, especially if you have a higher end video card connected to it.

Emachine 5220 keeps tuning its self off

I think the problem  may be that your operating system  may have gone corrupt

try  to enter the Safe mode  (if you can )
and see if you can  revert back to old settings and whether it helps or not
else   you would have to
  reinstall the whole operating system
