Hi johnny_johnm
PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER IF YOU FIND IT HELPFUL !
If your flash drive data is still getting corrupted After going to My Computer, Right click the Removable drive, Go to Properties >Tools. Run Error Checking and Scan for errors and fix them. The files that are corrupt or in bad sectors already will not work but at least the new transferred files should work.
my pen drive is corrupted - scandrive5ze.jpg If all fails, format your drive. It will delete all the data from your USB drive and make it fresh and hopefully remove all errors. The software for formatting comes on the CD or available on support sites for your branded usb drive on the net. For some reason, when I ran this formatting software, it would say the USB drive is not connected.
How did I format my flash drive? Right click removable drive and select and format the drive. Then scan and fixes all errors. So all the bad sectors are fixed and my drive has become all new and is working well now.
formatdrive3ji.jpg In the File System drop down, you will see FAT and FAT32. So which one to select?
If you right click Removable Drive >Properties The General Properties of the USB drive reveals it is FAT, so I use FAT in the format utility. Then just select "Quick Format" and "Start" and all data will be deleted and hopefully allmy pen drive is corrupted - nikkiallisto_83.pnge

I had same probs and had to replace it. below is the option i tried but it didn't work for me.

Registry
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. If uncomfortable with using Registry Editor, see if you can find someone who is comfortable and that you can Trust. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For XP Machines Only
Quoting :

1) Click Start->Run.

2)Type regedit and hit enter.

4)Click on the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

5)Click on the plus sign next to SYSTEM

6)Click on the plus sign next to CurrentControlSet

7)Click on the plus sign next to Control

8)Click on the plus sign next to StorageDevicePolicies

9)Write click on WriteProtect and click modify.

10)If the value data is 1 change it 0 and click ok.

11)Repeat steps 7 to 10 for ControlSet001 and ControlSet002 .

12)Close Registry editor and restart the computer.

-------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't find it in the registry, the best way is to create it yourself. Below is the procedure.

Start the Registry Editor

Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control key

If there is no key called StorageDevicePolicies, create it
.
You do this by right-clicking the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control key, and selecting New > Key from the menu.

Select the StorageDevicePolicies key

From the menu select Edit > New > DWORD Value

Name the new value WriteProtect

Right-click the WriteProtect value and choose Modify

In the Value Data: box enter 1

Exit the registry editor, and restart your computer

By the sound of it, this memory stick has become corrupted in some way. Have you take it out of a computer without safely ejecting it, by any chance?
It's unlikely that you'll be able to get your data off it now, unfortunately. Your best bet is to reformat it. On a Mac, use Disk utility - select the memory stick and go to the 'Erase' tab. On MS Windows, find it in your file browser, right click and select 'Format'.
Hope this helped!

I connect my apello m300 to laptop.but show this error in that time."The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" why show this messege

Compare the "corrupted message" to a child with a pen writing all over the "table of contents" of a book. Some of the entries in that table of contents have become unreadable.

So, the "logical-integrity" of the disk-drive has been compromised, either by a software error (Windows writing files to the wrong place on the disk-drive) or by a hardware (Windows tried to write files to the correct place, but that part of the disk-drive cannot reliably be accurately recorded).

I cannot open my pen drive. 'A corrupted and unreadable' message appear. Please help..

When you connect it to your PC, if you are using Windows, go to My Computer, right-click the drive, and click Format. Then just click the Format button at the bottom.

That should get your drive working again temporarily, if there's any life left in it. There may not be - getting that error is a sign that your flash drive probably needs to be replaced. Sorry!

Corrupt or unreadable error message

You can use free softwares such as Pandora Recovery to recover data. I cannot guarantee that it will recover any, but it doesn't hurt to try. There are also a lot of other payware softwares you can try if you think it would help.

Pen Drive write Protect

Hey, the transcend pen drives usually have a small switch on the side of it, ie to turn the write protect on and off, usually a small lock symbol on it, the problem with unreadable files names etc, could be a corrupt partition, i would suggest formatting the drive as long as you aint got any important information on it

good luck:-)

"Drive not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

Look around "My Computer" for other drive letters - it's likely that your computer just changed it to a different letter and it's still there.

I'd guess it would be either E or G because they usually only bump by one letter.
