Beeps 6 times when turned on, monitor remains black. Is the 6 beeps an error code? If so, for what problem? Notes: Upgraded to 2 GB RAM about 1 year ago, replaced failed C drive and installed Windows 7 Pro OEM from purchased CD about 2 months ago, has been working great until now. Thanks.

SOURCE: My Sony VGC-RA826G Desktop turns on and then beeps

Sounds like a memory error. Try pulling out one stick at a time until it is able to boot. Assuming, of course, you have more than one stick. If not, buy or borrow a new stick and try that. With 3 beeps the bad stick is likely to be in DIMM slot 1.

The PC does not start.Only it beeps and a red light blinks, also fen is not working.

here are some of the basic codes, depending on which BIOS you have...

Also you do not indicate which fan? I would guess you mean the main Power Supply (PS)? In which case it could just be you need to replace the PS.

Can not reinstall os on mt acer 246lc it bleeps 4 times and swithes off

Without knowing what motherboard is in the unit - it will be difficult to determine what the 4 beeps means.

Generally, 4 beeps means issues with :

    - memory
    - video card
    - keyboard
    - motherboard failure

    Things to try -

    - make sure there is no keys stuck down
    - remove the battery and AC adapter, remove and re-install the memory sticks (reseating the memory)

If this does not work, your problem may be more serious. Let us know the results of the above suggestions.
