If you have a 510a base, then purchased a Plantronics Voyager Pro headset to replace your old headset, it won't work. Those are two different headsets. The Voyager Pro is not meant to work with the 510a base. The correct headset is this:

HL-10 LIFTER DOSEN'T STAY UP AND SLIDES DOWN FREQUENTLY.

The internal gears on the Plantronics HL10 may be worn. You can take the handset receiver off hook and try manually raising up the lifter as far as it will go and then slowly pushing it back down into place, sometimes this will help to get it back working properly. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the HL10 lifter. Below is a link where you can purchase a new lifter.

DELAY WHEN RECEIVING A CALL

I'm assuming you are using a Plantronics HL10 handset lifter. The lifer is what notifies your headset that it has an incoming call. Try turning the ringer volume up on your phone first and see if that solves the problem. If that does not help, it could be the sensor on the lifter is going out. This could be causing a delay in the response time. The lifter ships with a ring detector that has a 2.5mm jack on one end and a small round microphone on the other end. You could try plugging this into the back of the lifter and setting the microphone next to where the lifter is mounted on your phone. This might help in picking up the sound of the phones ring tones. If that doesn't help you might consider replacing the lifter.

Cannot hear phone ringing in headset, only on handset.

The HL10 handset lifer is what notifies your headset that you have an incoming call. If you are using the handset lifter and are not receiving the 3 short beeps in your ear piece there are a couple different things that could be going on.
1. The internal microphone could have gone out on the lifter. This microphone is what sends the signal to your headset that you have an incoming call. If the microphone is working you will hear 3 short beeps in your headset.
2. If the volume is too low on your telephone, the handset lifter will not notify the headset of an incoming call, so try turning the volume up on your phone and see if that takes care of the problem.
3. The HL10 handset lifter ships with a ring detector that has a 2.5mm jack on one end and a small round microphone on the other end. This ring detector is intended for phones that do not have the speaker located under the handset. You could try plugging this into the back of the lifter and setting the microphone next to where the lifter is mounted on your phone. This might help pick up the sound of the phones ring tone.

If you are manually lifting your handset out of the cradle and sitting it to the side instead of using a lifter, then you will not receive the 3 short beeps in your earpiece to notify you of an incoming call.

Calling party cannot here receiving party

This can be one of a couple of things. First of all, if this is a multi-handset phone, go off hook on two handsets at the same time and see if you can hear yourself in both phones (Speak into one while listening to the other) If it is only a single handset phone, do the same thing only with another phone. If you cannot hear anything coming from the uniden phone, it may have a bad mic in the handset and would need to be replaced. (the handset not the mic) If you bought it less then a year ago and still have the receipt, call uniden at 18002971023 and they will help you get it replaced.

Handset has no sound

Manual:

First for the handset sound you want to check and see if the cord to the handset is bad. Check this by switching this cord with one from a working phone. If this works but a new cord.

Second, sometimes the receiver switch is the problem. Gently try slight side to side force on the receiver switch (button that get pushed in when you hang up the receiver). I have found that often the receiver switch is the problem. To fix this, if you feel comfortable, you will need to open up the phone and try to readjust the switch from the inside.

I discovered this problem myself on phones where people slammed down the receiver one to many times. I could lift the receiver to stop a ringing phone but either I or the other party on the phone could not hear me. The switch was the fix in addition to telling people to not slam the phone if they get mad.

My voice is not heard on my Phone

Any kind of intermittent transmission problem, or solid transmission problems you mention are directly related to your phone. I'm not sure what kind of phone you have. If this is a typical home phone, it would either be the handset or the handset cord. If this is wireless, its the entire handset.

Plantronics cs55 problem

Turn on the wireless headset as soon as the HL10 lifter picks up the headset. Remember to press the call answer switch. A steady green light should come on the base and the wireless headset should have a small green blinking light on, on its side.

* Make sure your hand receiver is off the hook when using the headset. Also check that you hear a dial tone on the handset/hand receiver before turning on the headset.

hi alwayes start chcking a problem from the end and back 1) check the MIC on your handset - connect it to something else and see if it works good... 2) check your output if there is any noise (voltage, other system....) if all is good then the problem is probeply in your COMP: check all audio configurations if that didnt help then its a hardware problem.... good luck
