Philips Blu-ray player freezes (like freeze frame) during playback. Sometimes says disc cannot be played. Takes a long time to load. Brand new disc and several rentals have problem. Upgraded firmware to latest level already. Figure needs repair. Any other ideas? BDP 9000. DVDs seem to be fine.

Hi maybe optical pickup is dirty, this component is the one that reads disks, you could try to use a cleaner CD or DVD to fix it, if this doesn't work, maybe the optical pickup needs to be replaced.

It is illegal to change the zone on a DVD or Blu-Ray player. You should invest in what is called a Multizone Blu-Ray Player - it will play any disc from any region. That is the only legal answer I can offer. YouTube does, hoewever, feature hacks on unlocking the region code - but it is still illegal.

rub some benzine on the disc leave it for 10 minutes then polish it off with a soft cloth

Sounds to me like a laser alignment issue, quickly get a support case going with the Manufacturer as most have a one year warranty whether or not you have a receipt.

Report the error to Samsung support. There is an ongoing problem with the firmware. Make sure you have updated to the most recent firmware version 1025.0 that was released this month. There are still unresolved problems with the new firmware release though. Many movies will fail to load and other will load and play but will skip/freeze during playback. This is related to the anti-piracy features on the Blu-Ray that the player can not properly handle.

your laser lens is probly dirty ;/ just use a qtips and alcool and gently clean the lens if it not work proper ly may be your laser assembly going out...

I think the problem is for this the disc may be damaged. Or dont use copies this freezez and ruines the system, there may be a microchip problem i sugest return it and ask for compesasatin

The most likely cause of your frustration with the BDP-S350 is that your player's firmware is not the most current. Most often, the firmware problem is JAVA related and will not let the menus load at all, but freezing during playback has also been reportedly fixed with the firmware upgrade.

The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.

Netflix BluRay disc freezes on samsung 1600

I have had this problem a few times myself with clients players. A power down usually helps but only temporarily.

Very slow to load, and some discs just do not play. Frequent "freezing" during playback. A firmware upgrade did not solve the problem

I place dvd in and after loading it saids please eject the disc playback feature may not be available on this disc. i tried one of my dvd's, and it did the same thing.

well, maybe by having the player un-plugged overnight i will see a difference tomorrow, but for now i had to buy an upgrade DVD player, the laser eye cleaners only clean small scratches in the eye and the main problem from that is when all of the dvds played either skip or freeze, in this case the dvd will not spin or load the disc menu, good luck!
