Your category title answers your question. You opted for the cheap aftermarket reused replacement cartridges rather than the more pricey original equipment ones. This is what can happen when you do that. If these replacements were really that great, they would put enough competition on the manufacturer that they would lower their prices. But you now see why they don't. You have paid a small price to understand quality versus price. (By the way, they don't ALWAYS do that, but are you willing to take the chance of one out of five...or three?)

Ink might be finished, try to install new ink catreges.

First try and go to page setup under file and set your bottom and top margins to .25. is every bottom half line faded? If so then yes you might need a new ink cartridge.

Try to run the "Clean Print Heads" utility. Sometimes it is called something else, but whenever your print quality degrades, this is a good program to run. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest replacing the print cartridge. Sometimes they go bad if they have not been used for a long time. Hope this helps!

Try printing out the test page from the printer, this will show you if any of the inkjet holes are getting plugged. If you can't print a test page without the skipping try changing the ink cartridge(s), the test page will show you which one is clogging.

This is Maltesecross. Turns out that the faintness of my printed pages was in fact due to a low ink cartridge, even though some pages printed out fine and others half-good. Eventually, all pages turned faint, and upon re-installing the driver, I got a low-ink warning (the first one ever). Putting in a new ink cartridge solved the problem for me.
