FWIW, not all machines have a needle "position" function even though they can make a zig-zag stitch. The home position is the center and the zig-zag selector just sets how wide the stitch will be.
You can go purchase one on line at Sewingpartsonline.com for $35.95 or your local sewing machine store should have. Sometimes ou can find them at Walmart also.
Make sure the bobbin is the correct one for the machine first. Try another bobbin on a scrap of material. Bobbin will fit into the bobbin holder going the incorrect way. Make sure the thread is unwinding in the correct direction. mine has a arrow for the correct position. Hope this helps.
First of all stop pulling that will only bend your needle and cause further problems.
Check to make sure your feed dogs are engaged. There should be a switch somewhere around the sewing area front or back or perhaps under a flat bed attachment.
Flat Bed Attachment is correct. Is Necchi even made anymore? I don't think so. Your search may be futile. However a good wood worker could make you something to fit.
