Hi all
My fridge freezer seems to have a problem. The fridge is fine.
The freezer is freezing most foods such as mince and bread, but ice cream is virtually melted.
I'm not sure what the freezing point is for these foods - but does this mean that the freezer is not cold enough?
Any suggestions for how to solve such a problem?
Thanks in advance
Warren

Hi, As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...
It has seperate cooling circuits as you describe the problem can be a leak of refrigerant in the freezer circuit.if there is no heating up in the freezer condensing coil.It has to be check for the leakage.
hi i have same problem one of my lodgers left the door open and it froze thick with ice i defrosted it and let it dry for 3 days and was fine for a couple of days then it defrosted so i switched it of for 24 hours it worked fine for a day before it defrosted again could you email me with any help thanks [email protected] matt
AS A FRIDGE ENGINEER I HAVE COME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT COULD BE A LOSS OF REFRIGERANT ALTHOUGH THIS WOULD STEADILY WORSEN IN USE,MORE LIKELY THERE IS A BLOCKAGE IN THE SYSTEM STOPPING THE REFRIGERANT REACHING ALL THE PIPEWORK THE CHEAPER FREEZERS USE THE SHELFS AS PART OF THE FREEZING SYSTEM.
THE ONLY SOLUTION IS A COMPRESSOR CHANGE AND REGAS (COSTLY IF NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY/GUARANTEE ETC)
IF FREEZER IS MORE THAN 5 YRS OLD BEST TO SCRAP IT UNFORTUNATELY..
Why should I pay $5 for someone who has written 'increase the temperature'?
No chance.
