I want to program my new Logitech Harmony One for the [2-channel], [AFD], and the various sound field functions, but I have been unable to record those from the RM-LJ304 remote that came with the receiver. The Logitech site has support for all other functions of the STR-DB940 receiver (that I have tried, anyway), but nothing for these. There are separate buttons for [2-channel] and [AFD] on the front panel, so it would seem reasonable that there are remote codes (or possibly sequences) for these, but I haven't been able to com up with them. Has anyone managed to do this??

Your surround capability is 5.1. Although there is a front panel function button, there appears to be no other buttons to program your unit without the remote. Find your remote or replace it. Ebay is showing replacements at what I consider a low cost. The Sony model is RM-ADU007. Failing that and considering the many remote functions required for you unit, would be a Logitech Harmony replacement. The Harmony remote also comes with a USB patch cord because the user must go online with Logitech to program the remote for your unit. It would be best to the Harmony website prior to buying to make sure it covers your model.
Hi, yes of course it is possible! First off, you have to make sure that your Dish device it set on remote address 1 in order for it to be controlled by the Harmony. Then, once you add the device to your Harmony account, if there are any functions that are missing, you can learn them right from the original remote .
Adding a device:
1. In the software, clcik 'Add Device'
2. Follow the on screen instructions.
Learning a command:
1. In the software, click 'Learn IR' next to the icon for your Dish device.
2. Go down to the bottom of the page where it says 'Learn a new command'
3. Type in a name for your command, and click 'Learn'
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The Harmony 520 remote does not support Favorite Channels.
However, you can set this up by creating a sequence to send the number commands for a specific channel, then map the sequence to a button. See the following link for a walk through of how to do that.
I have seen channel designations like this when using a satellite TV provider. From what I know (which is not a lot, I'm afraid) is that some affiliates offer analog and digital and digital sub channels so an example would be:
05 (main analog channel) 05-1 'digital' (depending on the receiver) 05-2 'digital sub channel' 05-3 'digital sub channel' etc
So, you may want to try just putting in the main channel '05' when using the Logitech software to program your favorites. Below is a link to a good post on the Logitech forum that tells how to program your favorites. Hope this helps!
I had a similar issue and only needed to "re-configue" the remote... Basically, just try plugging it back into a USB cord ( connected to your computer) and go to the original programming home page and click the "Update button." It will re-program your remote as if it was new.. Over time your Harmony may lose or forget the frequency of your various components. This happened to me. Also, make sure the remote has a full charge while you're programming it. Give it a try !
Once installed, you will simply
run the program and select
the devices you would like to control from
menus. This program finds the
right codes for you and loads them into
your remote control.
I recommend resetting it up with your components to get rid of the two channel problem.

You need to be more specific about your problem. Have you already programmed your Harmony Remote on the internet? Does it control all other functions (such as changing channels) on your TV?
Do you have any other components connected (such as a Home Theater Receiver) that might be a source of sound?
Please post more details, and I may be able to help.
