Hello,
My name is Dane and I am going to assist you in solving your problem.

You probably have a clogged Carburetor. To clean the Carburetor, you will probably need to remove, disassemble, soak, and use compressed air to blow out the jets in your carburetor. Pay close attention to how the carburetor is attached to the engine. Make a drawing if you need to or take some pictures. Remove the Carburetor from the engine. Remove the air filter, linkages, throttle/choke cables and fuel lines as needed. Remove the mounting bolts/nuts. You will need to disassemble the carburetor as far as possible and put it in some Carburetor cleaning solution. You can get this at any auto parts store. Do not place rubber parts in the solution. Allow it to soak in cleaner as directed, and then blow out the ports and jets with compressed air immediately after you take it out of the cleaning solution. Be careful not to get any spray back on your skin or in your eyes. Reinstall the Carburetor in the reverse order. Replace any worn or torn gaskets or o-rings as you assemble and reinstall it.

If it starts after you are finished with the cleaning, but still runs a little rough, you will need to adjust the high-speed mixture setting on your Carburetor. Turning the high-speed screw out just 1/2 turn or so should do the trick. It is not so hard to adjust the Carburetor, however you do need a special tool that is very hard to get your hands on. They don't make many engines with plain screw heads on the jet screws anymore. The newer Carburetors are factory set lean so they can pass emission standards. If you have a local dealer, they should adjust the mixture for a couple of bucks. If you can adjust the screw, start the engine, allow it to warm up, and apply full throttle. Start backing off the screw just until the engine gets max RPM. That's it. You're done.
Just a TIP: Always mix your fuel with an approved fuel stabilizer. Fuel begins to go bad after a few months and that's why many people have fuel problems in the spring.
I hope I

Stihl br350 backpack blower will only spark when pulled fast. It will not start pulled fast or slow!

To start a small two stroke engine the rope needs to pulled rapidly. So from what you are saying I believe that your problem may not be in the ignition system. An engine needs three things to start and run- air, fuel and spark. Make sure that it is getting enough air by checking the filter and make sure if its a foam element that no foam has torn from the element and been sucked into the engine. Clean or replace a dirty element. Check the fuel filter and make sure that fuel can flow freely through it. Even a tiny amount of dirt can clog a filter enough to hinder flow to the carburetor. Replace the filter if it's dirty or over a season old. Clean the carburetor THOROUGHLY! Use a good quality carb cleaning spray and make sure the diaphragm isn't hardened or creased. Replace any part that's questionable. A way to test start the engine is to put a few drops of pure gasoline in the spark plug hole and quickly replace the plug and pull the cord to start it. If it starts for a moment the ignition system is good. Don't do this more than a few times cause a two stroke engine requires oil in the fuel to lubricate the rotating assembly and running straight fuel for more than a few seconds can damage the engine. Do not use starting fluid it damages two stroke engines.

My 2006 poulan wild thing chain saw 42cc will not hit at all i am getting fuel

check for spark, if you have spark pour a very small amount of fuel down the spark plug hole, if it runs for a few seconds and stops. You have a fuel problem. If there is no spark, try a new plug, if still no spark you have an electrical problem. All is assuming you have compression. If no compression your motor needs refurbishing.

ECHO PB-500T - Stopped running and added gas fuel mix. Quit running again with full tank and now flywheel is stuck and I can't pull to start it. What is the problem?

My $350 Echo PB-500T seized up. I almost cried.

The solution was to drain the fuel tank.

  • Refill fuel tank with an 2-cycle Oli/gas mixture.

  • 40:1 =3.2 oz to one-gallon gas, do not use Alcohol base gas.

  • Remove the spark plug.

  • Pour approximate 1/8 oz 2-cycle Oli into the spark plug hole.

  • Remove the pull cord assembly (4-bolts)

  • This reviled the crank shaft-Pull cord bracket

  • I use a large monkey wrench to turn the shaft (CW) Clock-wise.

  • Complete approximate 20 revolutions.

  • Reassemble, but don't install the spark plug yet.

  • Complete approximate 20 more revolutions

    by pulling the pull cord.

  • Use q-tips to swab the top of the piston, as much as possible.

  • Install the spark-plug and crank, it will smoke for amount 7-10 minutes

Doesn't start has spark @ plug fuel @

try starting meaning pull the rope 6 times and then check the spark plug if its wet clean it or try a new plug, if its dry your not getting fuel in the cylinder which means carb problems. if you have a seringe or something to put some gas into the spark plug hole then install spark plug and try it. if it runs for a couple of seconds then you need to focus on the carb. only put a small amount of fuel in the plug hole if you try it otherwise youll be pulling on the rope for awhile before it will start. hope this helps.

Van cranks but will not start

Hi, if the engine cranks over normally when you attempt to start you car, but the engine does not start, the problem may be NO FUEL, NO SPARK or NO COMPRESSION. The engine needs adequate fuel pressure, a properly timed spark and normal compression to start.

To find why the engine won't start, remove the air inlet tube from the throttle body, push the throttle open and spray a small amount of aerosol starting fluid into the engine. Crank the engine. IF it has spark and compression but NO FUEL, it will start and run a few seconds before dying. If it does NOT start, it probably has NO SPARK.

Another method to check for spark is to pull a spark plug wire off of a spark plug (if it has plug wires, coil-on-plug ignitions do not) and place the open end of the plug wire near a metal surface on the engine. Have a helper crank the engine while you watch for a spark. DO NOT hold the wire while doing this as it can shock you. If you see a spark, the problem is not spark, but most likely NO FUEL or NO COMPRESSION. If you do not see a spark, the problem is in the IGNITION CIRCUIT.

Proper fuel pressure is critical for fuel injected engines to start and run. You should hear the fuel pump inside the fuel tank buzz for a couple of seconds when the ignition is turned on (no buzz means the pump is not running and the engine is not getting fuel). You can smell the tailpipe for gasoline vapors after cranking the engine. If you smell gas, the problem is likely not fuel but NO SPARK. You can also remove the plastic cap and press the schraeder valve test fitting on the fuel rail to see if there is any fuel pressure to the engine (not a very accurate test because fuel pressure must be at a certain level for the engine to start, for that you need a gauge). Even so, no fuel at the fuel rail would tell you fuel is not getting to the engine.

Rotohoe tiller won't start any ideas?

First step is to check for spark. Remove the spark plug. You can put the plug wire back on. Then pull cord. Should have a blue spark at the plug. If you do. Try putting a small amount of fuel table spoon in plug hole. install the spark plug and see if it will start. If it dose and will not run for more then a few seconds your not getting fuel. Make sure the fuel is on and clean. If this dose not help you need to make sure the carburetor is getting fuel. Turn off or pinch fuel line. remove from the carburetor . turn back on fuel see if flowing. If this is ok and still wont run. The float in carburetor is stuck. Remove float bowel. Bolt on bottom. Lightly tap with fuel on and see if flowing. If not turn fuel off. Remove float bowel. Under the float is the needle and seat. remove the needle turn on fuel see if flowing. should be. Replace the needle if tip is bad. if not reinstall and install float bowel. prime by first step small amount of fuel in spark plug hole. Should be fine after this.
