How do I get the case open so I can see why it won't charge? It seemed to have a short before but if the cord was propped it would charge. Now it is totally dead.

Ok, there is a short inside but the cord at the iron may be the problem. You need a CSA cord replacement if that is the case. Best idea is to scrap it in the blue box. If you are short of funds, try opening from the top and look at it as a learning experience. Oh with the plug not in the wall.

Two options in this case: get the tablet replaced, as the damage is internal, or find a certain way that your charger will work and charge it like that. In the second case it helps if you prop the charger under with an eraser or a piece of paper.

If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

It is best to get the charger checked with another phone as to confirm the case. In some cases the low regulation within the phone can efffect the charging circuit.
Also cross check the battery as if the battery is weak or had been not charged initially properly then it seems a suspect.

Hi there, I tried this and when all is said and done I now have a paper weight.This is one for the pros.First thing you need to keep track of all the screws because there are different lengths and different diameters and if you put a long one in the wrong place you can fry the motherboard.What happened when I opened the case it was like opening a book except there was a 1/4 inch connector ribbon that only let me open the case 1/2 an inch.I broke the connector and the end of the ribbon.Never did find parts that fit.You can buy the ribbon in bulk but I only needed 12 inches.( I would buy a dead laptop for parts) but for me I won't try this again.Everything is so cramped and easy to break Its really hard not to break something.A shop will charge any were from $100.00 to $150.00.By the way this is a pretty common problem with this Notebook.Do you know how to solder? I did this to a laptop many times. And after soldering the problem came back after few months. This is a major problem with laptops. What I finally did is jum short wires inside to bypass the part of the board that caused the problem, and never had to open it again. Opening a laptop is not easy with so many screw, and I hate opening it every few months.

Hey i think i just figured out the problem to all the port charging issues for the envy and envy 2 phones with verizon. its not the phones, its the charger cord! the part that goes into the phone. it gets pulled out over time from pulling the cord out of the phone all the time. get a pair of pliers. grab the end and push the metal end of the cord against somthing hard, push it back in so it is at the appropriate depth. this should make it charge properly again!
