Toshiba Satellite M115-S1061 Notebook Questions & Answers
Computer powers on but screen goes off unexplainably while power still on.
Laptop computers have power saver features that will blank the screen after a period of no input. Default on these can be as short as one minute. Users can change these settings to avoid screen blanking, especially when doing thins like watching movies or streaming video. The power saver feature may be different, and thus the screen shut off timer may be different when the unit is plugged in.

Why does my HP pc will not turn on
Bad RAM card detection, check C-MOS 3 volts lithium battery. Maybe the power talc switch button is bad. Check fuse and the entire components in primary circuit section.

The sound isnt working at all
When did the problem start? Did it ever work? What operating system are you using?
If the problem occured recently, you might be able to use System Restore to get it working again. Within Windows, click on Start then Run. Type msconfig then click the System Restore Button. Choose a date when the sound worked.
It would help to know if the problem persists, so that a possible hardware glitch can be troubleshot

Toshiba l450d 11v 13p
If you see your HDD lights working and can tell that the PC is doing something such as spinning the drives, and such, try looking very closely at the screen from different angles and even with a light in hand. You may be able to see some action on the screen or even your desktop, eventually. If you can faintly see PC operations taking place on the laptop, then the issue is the backlight. This means a screen replacement. You can also plug an external monitor up to the unit for a test.

My restore disk will not recover my toshiba satellite m115
Most likely, assuming your system disc is operational, you need to do a hard disk reset. The easiest way to do this is to delete any partitions that appear while doing the install, and doing a "fresh" install. This removes the partitions that are in the lower level of the hard disk drive. AKA - Low Level Format

Remove bios password on Toshiba Satellite M115-S3144
I agree with Ginko. I had one that someone brought to me, and I removed the CMOS battery. This one was actually soldered to the motherboard. I melted the solder, removed contact to the motherboard, and re-soldered the battery to the motherboard. This fixed it.

Computer does not recognize internal DVD/CD player
“To install, and Update Hardware click to open "Computer" from the “Desktop”, check to see if there is a DVD-RW Drive (D :), for external different (E or F:).
I. Look in the “Device with Removable Storage area,” see if the device is present, if so? Do the following: to “setup” the ('player') for “Installation.”
II. Right click on (DVD) “Media Player” select (“Install”) follow all instructions thereafter.
III. If the area is (Blank?), “go to,” and 'click' on the "Start button" click all “Programs” scroll for a “Media Disk Player”, open, and do the (“same as above”) for the installation. *Note: “Do the same for “Setup” (above) “Install.”
“If this solution helped, ratings it is appreciated, thanks.”

My Toshiba Satellite laptop recovery disk won't
Just a couple suggestions, the recovery disks seldom work if there is a virus or a hardware problem, you may need to contact our phone support to walk you through this one as we will need a lot more info. Try safe mode and see if you can do a system restore, if it will allow you to get into the "restore" program you may be able to save yourself a re formatting, also there is usualy if not always a partition on the hard drive of laptops made in the last few years, that will allow you to restore it to original condition. As you restart "and you may need to start and restart several times, look at the bottom of the screen for a mesage that reads something like for system restore press F- "and a key". You may get lucky and be able to get it back

Installing more ram
if you turn the laptop over there are usually 1 or 2 panels you can unscrew. unscrew them and take the old chips out by pulling the tabs on either side of the chips outwards. installation is the reverse of removal, they should just slide in. If you need further help, reach me via phone at

M115 s1061 overclock
Overclock can be done by setting fsb higher by percentage to speed up cpu frequency by percentage. But some cpu can not be overclocked and may overheat and shut down. And some drams can not be changed to higher fsb.
