Fax machines are ANALOG devices and will not work reliably on DIGITAL phone lines

i have a H P 3050 THREE IN ONE AND I CANNOT RECEIVE FAXES I HAVE COMCAST AND HAVE ALL MY SERVICES IN ONE, CABLE, PHONE AND INTERNET. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PLUG THIS IN CORRECTLY

please help me how to switch my machine Brother MFC440cn to fax/tel mode.

on a lexmark if someone send you a fax ,first the machine has to be in fax mode ,then when the phone start ringing you have to press the start button or #9 button

If you only use this line for a fax the least stressful option is a fax to email service and re-direct the incomming calls.

If you use this line for fax and phone do as I suggest above except re-directing the calls but dont forget to tell those who fax you of your new number

you need to watch during ringing period need to click ok or press what ever message says.

-press the "Fax Mode" button
-press the menu button
-The Fax menu screen will be displayed
-press down arrow button 5 times until the screen displays "Ringing and Answering."
-press the select button
-the display will show the "Ringing and Answering menu
-press down arrow button 4 times untip "Pick-up On?" is highlighted
-press the right arrow button 2 times until the screen displays "1st ring"
-press the "select" button and now "1st ring" will be set as the default.
