My macbook pro will not identify the usb mixer. it said the mixer would work with a mac or pc, so what can i do to make them compatible?

You will need a usb mixer or some other usb audio interface. Most likely whatever you purchase will come with installation instructions. Make sure whatever you get has more inputs than you need for future expansion.

you are sending the signal back on itself, hit the usb to main switch to off.

Wrong... there are setting on the mixer that will get u on track..make sure you un plug usb FROM mixer. Turn off I'm not 100% sure ether master effect insert I know it is 1 of the insert buttons wit the right 1 hold down button turn the knob closet effect screen if right that screen should turn from PC 2 MAC when you see this hit the left BEAT BUTTON to save setting

The internal audio systems in the PC's are inadequate for high quality work. You should get an external audio system that attaches via firewire or USB to your MAC. Then use balanced cables from the mixer to this audio interface. There are MANY different audio interfaces... Search the music equipment suppliers in the "recording" section of their catalog...

Necesitas los drivers que deber?an venirte en un cd con la consola. Si no instalas eso, la PC no reconoce los AD converters que usa cada canal , que ser?a como agregar la misma cantidad de tarjetas de sonido nuevas, y es imposible que puedas grabar.
Si no tenes el CD, deber?as ingresar en la pagina del fabricante para descargarlos.

As a matter of fact it is probably due to a compatibility issue of the USB driver after a recent software update of MacOSX drivers. Fortunately I have an old Macbook pro with an old version of MacOSX and the Tascam showed up immediatly and USB worked fine. Therefore, if ou can downgrade your USB driver it might solve the problem.

A trip to your local Radio Shack should solve your problem with the purchase of a mini phone jack to double RCA type (red and white) leads cable.

Jack into the audio out of your Macbook and into the input of your choice on the mixer with the RCA jacks and you are good to go.
