Ice maker water dispenser is stuck in the on position

I understand that the ice maker in your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS23H7CS, is crushing your ice, but will not dispense the crushed ice. It sounds like the dispenser is possibly jammed. Follow the following steps for a possible resolution:

1)The ice has melted and frozen around the auger due to infrequent use, temperature fluctuations, and/or power outages. Remove the ice container, thaw, and empty the contents. Clean the container, wipe dry, and replace it in the proper position. When new ice is made, dispenser should operate.

2)Ice cubes are jammed between the ice maker and the back of ice container. Remove the ice cubes that are jamming the dispenser.

3)Ice cubes could be frozen together. Use the dispenser often so that cubes do not freeze together.

4)The ice cubes are hollow or smaller than normal. The ice & water filter cartridge could be clogged. Replace the filter cartridge. Dispensing system operates best at 20 - 100 psi water pressure. Well water pressures should fall within this range.

If the above does not work, I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Turn the power back on and try dispensing crushed ice. I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS26R4A, is not making ice. There are a couple of things you can check. First, check the wire signal arm to make sure it is in the "down" or ON position. The ice maker turns off automatically when the ice container becomes full. To stop the ice maker, lift the wire signal arm until it clicks, and locks in the "up" or OFF position. Second, check to see if the water dispenser is dispensing. You might need to change your water filter. It's recommended you change it every 6-8 months. The other thing if your appliance is not dispensing water is there might be a kink in the hose or maybe the water supply has been cut off. Hope this has been helpful.

Hello Jim czyryca - From what you are describing if the ice maker is not making ice but is dispensing water, sounds like the refrigerator has a frozen water line, faulty ice maker valve or bad component that sends power to the ice maker valve when needed. The ice maker cycles internally to call for water so I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Water dispensing solenoid is bad. You need to replace the solenoid valve. This typically is independent of the ice maker.

could be that the ice maker arm is getting stuck or may have some frost on it. can you supply the complete model # please?

Sounds like the water solinoid valves are wired wrong.One activates The water dispenser.The other the ice maker.That, why every so often the water shoots out on the floor.The ice maker is telling the valve to open.
