It is not really the printer and PC that are the issue. Usually it is the driver and the operating system (Win XP for example).

Not all printers get carried forward by operating systems. Step one is to see if your printer is supported by the operating system.

If it is not, then look for a generic driver (supplied by the operating system) that is most like your printer.
