Does the ice maker do anything to your knowledge (any noises from it, anything at all coming out of it)? You talk about the water dispenser... I guess that is to indicate you are sure water is hooked up to the fridge properly? And did the ice maker work fine for a long while and just suddenly stop? Or has it never worked? Also, you are certain that the control arm that stops the icemaker from making ice is in the correct position as to "start" the production of ice?
Thanks Tim

I believe the down position is where you want it though for ice production, correct? It sounds like the lever attached to that "control arm" is having a problem. The sensor inside that can tell whether it is upright or not. You've lived there a year... is it a rental unit you are in or a house? If a rental your landlord should be responsible for getting the icemaker back working..

    .

It is actually a mechanical problem though I can tell you for sure, lying in that control arm. It may be possible to take apart the ice maker and reattach the arm correctly, or replace that sensor / jacket that the control arm "plugs" into essentially. It will be much easier, and a sure fix to just replace the internal ice maker altogether though.

    Thanks

    Tim

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

GE Profile refrigerator model PFSS6KW/PFSF6PKW not making ice.

Ice dispenser doesn't work
  1. Dispenser control board
If the ice dispenser is not functioning at all the most likely cause is going to be the dispenser control board. The dispenser control board governs the major portion of the systematic functions of the dispenser and is less likely to be the issue if only certain components are malfunctioning. If the dispenser control board is at fault, it will need to be replaced.
  1. Water inlet valve & low water pressure from house supply
If the ice dispenser on your refrigerator is not working properly, one of the first things to consider as an issue is the water pressure to your appliance. The ice dispenser cannot properly function with a psi less than 20. If psi is appropriate, proceed to replace the water inlet valve to correct the issue. You may also be dealing with low household water pressure. This low flow can be examined by using a water pressure test gauge. Once the household water pressure is resolved, you can double check your refrigerator connection to ensure it is now flowing properly and that the ice dispenser is functioning.
  1. Water tube in door is frozen
If the ice dispenser is not working on your refrigerator, the issue could be a frozen water supply tube located in the door. Although this may be a tricky problem to locate, the first thing to do is find a connection point in the tube. After this has been found, attempt to blow air through the tube. If the air flows freely through the tube, it is not frozen and this is not the issue. If it does not, the tube is frozen and needs to be removed to thaw out. As it thaws, attempt to ascertain why it froze and correct the positioning of the tubing to prevent the issue from occurring again in the future.
  1. Dispenser switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working properly you could be dealing with a defective dispenser switch. Activated by the dispenser actuator, the switches are responsible for numerous actions including ice cube disbursement, type of ice, and water controls. The switch can be tested using an ohm meter and should be replaced if it does not reveal continuity.
  1. Door switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working, the functionality of the door switch can be inspected. This switch is responsible for turning on the light in the freezer and simultaneously turning off the ice dispenser when the freezer door is opened. If this switch malfunctions, it will show no continuity on the ohm meter and will require replacement.

Maytag mfi2568aes control panel

If the refrigerator water dispenser is not working the water supply tube in the door may be frozen. This will be difficult to track down. Look for a connection point at the bottom or top of the door, try removing the hose and blowing air through it and out the dispenser. Next it could be the water valve that sometimes has twin valves for ice and water combined, third is low pressure into the line (bad main valve) or clogged filter... you need about 20psi for function. Last is the door switch, when the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice and water dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn't have continuity it should be replaced.

The dispenser light won't turn off and ice and water not working after filter change..

I'm not really sure of this one but here's a couple ideas. If the refrigerator ice and water dispenser is not working the dispenser control board might be defective. The control board governs most of the functions of the dispenser system. If only one item of the dispenser system is not working, troubleshoot further to see if the problem is with one of the components in the system. The board is more likely to be the cause of the problem when the entire dispensing system fails. It may also be the door switch If the refrigerator ice and water dispenser is not working. When the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice maker dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn't have continuity it should be replaced. Before either of these try shutting it off (or place it in demo mode) and return is to active state. It may just need a reset

Continuous beeping

Either any door is not closed properly or door sensor is not working, its not sensing the door closed.Or the problem is no defrost. The defrost is causing over ice in fridge or freezer section.

Reset the refrigerator by disconnecting it from wall outlet for 12 hours, then reconnect and see if still the same problem is there.

On some cases its issue with fan not working. There are two fans, one in freezer section and one in fridge section. If either of the fan is not working the controls will flash.

Before going to buy any parts directly.

GE GSH25JFRF BB ice maker doesn't dispense. Water dispenses and ice maker makes ice but won't come out.

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze

Ge model gsl251frfbs side by side. Ice maker/water dispenser not working when activated. makes ice, just won't dispense ice or water through front door. don't hear motor activating.

I would check the door switch that turn the light on for freezer. When the door opens the switch changes to deactivate the controls on the dispenser panel and when shut should turn it back on. I will help you trace the problem because sometimes there is a broken connection from the dispenser panel to control board. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

Dispenser

Sounds like a control fault on the microswitch to activate the ice and water line. Access to this is immediately behind the ice dispenser section (just above) on the freezer door. Normal access is two screws located behind the removal drip tray section. Either that or the control board for the ice dispenser as you are not getting water as well. Before taking this section apart though you should hear a buzzing sound when you activate the chilled water, if you do then you may have a water supply problem. Hope this helps.
