The tray may have some redidual soiling around the electrical contacts at the back.

Try cleaning the contacts and see what happens.

I have a message: Empty the drip tray, but when I empty it, i still get the same message and the machine will not respond to any arrow inputs, so, I can't make any drinks

I have never had seen this problem ... however assuming the tray contacts are not shorted in any way ... its likely to be a problem with contacts in rear of the tray cavity. I would check the following;

1. Remove drip tray and shine a torch into the tray cavity to inspect the receiving contacts that accept the tray contacts. Perhaps theses contacts are shorted in some way.

2. The next step is to open up machine, but you need to be suitably experienced with electrical appliances to perform this step. Disconnect the power at the outlet (or if this is not accessible than at the fuse box). Remove the machine from the cavity and remove the rear panels (making note of which screws go where). Locate the wires that terminate on the contacts on the rear side of tray cavity. Disconnect the wires from these contacts. Replace panels and then reapply power to unit. If this solves your problem .. then there must be a short on the contacts in rear of tray cavity. If this does not solve the problem then trace this wire back to control board and remove wire at the control board. Again replace panels. If this solves problem then there must be a fault in the wire which can be fixed/replaced.. If this does not solve the problem then it would appear to be a problem with control board and best to call Miele.

Please come back if you need more help and also once you solve the problem .. to explain what went wrong. regards

Empty water light, empty condenser

I experienced the problem with a hotpoint TCYM 750, with the red empty water light failing to switch off. After removing the filter and cleaning it, cleaning the condenser and drying anywhere I had access to the machine still didn't heat and the light remained on. Reading the post about the machine having 3 reservoirs it struck me that one of the reservoirs may be hard to access. So I unplugged the machine and tipped it onto its front. The reservoir drained, I pushed the machine back upright and cleared up some water around the condenser. The drier now works properly and the empty water light is off - job done!

Empty tray message afyter the tray has been emptied

We had similar problem on our Z5. It turned out to be the two prongs at the end of the tray that were shorted out with dirty water. After carefully cleaning the whole contact area of the tray, the message was cleared. I would also inspect the machine itself where the prongs go in. Use a flashlight to ensure there is nothing causing the tray to misalign with the contacts. Somtimes used grounds gets stuck there and lifts the tray a bit.

I keep getting tray empty message when the tray is in fact emty

Try to snap out the metal contacts on the tray and clean behind them. Make sure that everything has dried up before you reassemble.

EMPTY GROUNDS warning will not reset

The solution was referenced in one of the earlier postings but I wanted to clarify in case people are misunderstanding. The two metal contacts at the back of the machine insert into the wall of the machine and tell the coffee maker that the tray is inserted. Sometimes the big, flat, readily visible portion of these contacts get dirty and I think people are focusing on this portion of the contacts. However, the metal contacts also bend down into the tray where they can detect water (basically if there is enough water or material to conduct between the two contacts then the machine tells you to empty the try). This is the portion where you need to focus on cleaning, down in the tray, between the narrow plastic valley at the back of the tray. It will require Q-tips or something to really push down into the tray to clean away from the contacts. I did not have water in the tray but had enough moist old coffee grounds that it was causing the issue. I cleaned this area with water, a toothbrush and Q-tips and ensured it was very clean and dry. I have not seen the issue again in months (my coffee maker is three years old, gets used daily and we keep it relatively clean, but this is the first time we've gotten this error).

Need to clean the filter

http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/vicks/v3100.html

This is the link to your manual.
Daily Maintenance
1.
Turn switch to OFF position and unplug the cord from wall outlet.
2. Lift the Water Tank from Base. Carefully remove the Water Tray from the base being
careful not to damage the delicate Wicking Filter. Empty excess water from the Water Tray
without removing the Wicking Filter. Remove the Tank Cap and drain any water from the
Water Tank. Rinse the Water Tank with lukewarm water after each use. Wipe accessible
surfaces of the Water Tank and Water Tray clean with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Do not immerse the Base in water. For storage, wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth. Keep
water away from the Air Outlet.
4. Do not leave water in the Water Tank or Water Tray when unit is not in use as it may
result in the build up of mineral deposits and bacteria that can inhibit the output
efficiency of the humidifier. Please note that if water remains in the Water Tank for more
than a day or two, bacterial growth is possible.
5. Replace Water Tray with Wicking Filter. Then replace the Tank. Humidifier is now ready for
use.
Weekly Maintenance
Removing Scale
1.
Remove the Water Tank and empty any remaining water from the Water Tank.
2. Turn switch to the ON position, either low or high speed, and operate Humidifier until the
Wicking Filter is thoroughly dry.
3. Turn switch to the OFF position and unplug the cord from wall outlet.
4. Remove Wicking Filter from the Water Tray by carefully lifting straight up taking care not to
tear filter.
5. Remove the Water Tray from the Base. Fill Water Tray with undiluted white vinegar. Let
stand for 20 minutes.
6. Dampen soft, clean cloth or sponge with undiluted white vinegar and wipe out Water Tray
to remove scale. Do not use soap, detergents or abrasive cleaners.
7. Rinse the Water Tray thoroughly in clean warm water or put in top shelf of dishwasher to
remove scale and vinegar before disinfecting the Water Tray.

Disinfecting the Water Tray and Tank
1.
Fill tank with 1 teaspoon of household bleach in 1 gallon of water. Let stand twenty (20)
minutes, shaking vigorously every few minutes, drain and rinse with clean water until the
bleach smell is gone. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
2. Wipe the Water Tray with a soft cloth dampened in the bleach and water solution. Rinse
the Water Tray thoroughly or place in dishwasher before proceeding.
3. Wipe all exterior surfaces of the Base with a soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse the Base in
water or use water to clean the base. An electric shock may result or the humidifier may
be damaged.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
