Hi..I have a Compaq Presario CQ40. My laptop cannot start up..or even boot. Every time I turn it on, it displays nothing, just a black screen.But the power indicator is on and there are some white lights flashing next on the Caps lock button and above the scroll button..please help me with this. I really need my laptop now.

In this case I would recommend you to please connect the external monitor to the laptop and check if you get the display on the external one or not
If yes, it means the LCD has some issues with the LCD cable
If nothing on the external as well, it indicates that the system video card or motherboard has some issue
i m not able to install windows xp on my compaq cq60 104tu laptop
when i boot the cd the exatrating process work properly and after
extraction of all file when windows is startup a blue screen appears and
and message displayed in the screen check ur hard disk for vireuses
and installation stop
