After replacing the ink cartridge, my printer still does not print well. When printing in black ink, it leaves horizontal faded lines all over the paper. When I print in color, the color is inaccurate. I've had this problem for over 4 months now and i have replaced my ink cartridge many times but it never works. I tried calibrating it but that does not work either.

Check the waste recepticle under where the ink cartridges rest in the home position. Over time, ink sprayed into this cup during cleaning cycles builds up to form a small mountain of congealed ink. If this gets too high, it makes contact with the printhead and drags ink across all your prints. If there is a ***** of ink present, scoop it out with a spoon or a popsicle stick.

Dont get it on you, its messy...

Nope, not the cartridge...swapped out known good cartridge from our other Dell 926, still the same problem...printer will not print black...both carts work fine in other Dell 926

Check your settings i=under the Services Toolbox. Also go into printer preferences and see if you can force it to print in black only.

First, are you running low on those ink colors? If not, possibly print cartridges need cleaning. If printer has separate print heads, they made need cleaning.
Lastly, print head(s) may need replacement.

When I print to black, I get partial words. Half the words are faded at the top and I get white horizontal lines about an inch apart all the way down the page.
do a full cartridge clean and realignment if this does not work replace the black ink cartridges

Black printer ink in HP Photosmart may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

I have a Brother MFC 240C printer that will not print black ink. I just changed all the cartridges. All the other cartridges print. I ran the clean cycle many times. No error messages just blank paper.
I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

All colours and black print faded. Black is a
ANSER #1

Assuming that you are using original Canon cartridges or a brand of Compatibles that you have used before.

If print results are blurred, colors are faded or not printed correctly, the pint head nozzles are probably clogged.

Follow the procedure below to print the nozzle check pattern, check the print head nozzle condition, then clean the Print Head. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times.

If printed ruled lines are misaligned or print results are otherwise unsatisfactory, aligning the Print Head may improve print quality.

Caution Do not rinse or wipe the Print Head and ink tanks. This can cause trouble with the Print Head and ink
tanks.

Note Before performing maintenance
Open the Top Cover and make sure that all lamps on the ink tanks are lit red.
If not, see Checking the Ink Status and take an appropriate action.
Increasing the print quality in the printer driver settings may improve the print result.

please you used the colour printer ? if yes then your check the csrtridge a refeling the towner and service the cartridge and service in printer and aply the print is ok.

Faded Lines on my prints from my Photosmart express C4280
try using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth and carefully clean the print heads on the printer itself. Failing that, consult the manufacturer.
