Why is my epson printer printing red instead of hot pink

How to fix printer color problems If you're unable to achieve accurate colours when printing, there are a couple of easy tests you can do to determine what needs to be done to resolve the issue. More than likely the problem will be an empty cartridge, so firstly, you should check the ink levels of your printer. You won't need to open up the printer up to do this as you just need to access the printer's maintenance utilities. This can be found either through your start menu on your PC or, on the printer's LCD navigation screen, if it has one. Where this is located does depend on the make and model of your printer. Once you're in the maintenance utilities, you'll be able to see what cartridges are low or out of ink. If the ink levels look normal but you're still not getting the quality printing you require, it may be time to do a test print or nozzle check. From this, you'll be able to determine what colour cartridge is causing the problem as the test separates cyan, magenta and yellow apart. A test may be necessary because if you've not printed in a while the ink in the cartridges can dry up and clog the nozzle. By doing a nozzle check, the printer will essentially clean out the nozzle, freeing it of any clogged particles. It's best to do the nozzle test last, as this can consume large amounts of ink during the process. With these simple tests you'll be able to determine which ink cartridge likely needs changing and this can, in turn, help maintain the upkeep of your printer.

How do i downgrade firmware on my brother printer

I have just made the same mistake on my Brother MFC-J470DW printer. I allowed it to upgrade the firmware, and two of my ink cartridges, which were previously nearly full (and not OEM original equipment), started to display as "Cannot Detect" on the printer display. I contacted Brother and they directed me to a site that basically says you HAVE to use original Brother ink cartridges after the firmware update to version H. In other words, Brother has found a way to limit our machines so that we cannot use non-original ink cartridges. I found a way to work around this problem, but it only works because I have the original cartridges that were nearly empty. You can carefully open the plastic case of the cartridge, being careful to note where the springs are located and to not lose them. Then you can see the reservoir for the ink. You can use an empty syringe, minus the needle, to suck out the ink from a non-oem cartridge. You have to press the upper release prong (spring-loaded thingy at the top of the cartridge) while you suck out the ink into the syringe at the bottom port of the ink cartridge. When you see that the cartridge is empty, reverse the process by squeezing the ink into the original Brother cartridge in a similar manner. You don't have to open the cartridge to do this, but it helps to see the levels of ink before and after. Hopefully Brother has not found a way to make their ink clash with compatible inks so that they damage the printing ports of your printer. I haven't done this on this machine yet, so be careful, because you might destroy the printer so that you cannot even use original inks anymore. Personally, I bought the printer on sale at Staples for $50, over a year ago, so if I ruin it by mixing oem and non-oem inks, then I will just buy a different brand next time and hope for a more ethical company policy on allowing non-oem inks (compatible inks). On this printer, I have used non-oem inks ever since the starte inks ran out. They always work just fine! I get them at Meritline.com. Make sure to read the comments at meritline.com because if you have updated your firmware recently, then Brother has made it impossible for us to use non-oem inks anymore. They do not offer a method to downgrade the firmware! And I cannot find a site to find the older versions. The only download they offer is a firmware upgrade tool, and not the actual firmware versions. Hope this helps.

ERROR "PRINT UNABLE 50" WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?

Machine Error 50 either means that there is a loose object inside the machine (usually piece of paper), or that there is a mechanical error which would need you to have the machine sent to service.

your laptop is working wirelessly with the internet but for making the printer to use it wirelessly the printer should be also a wireless printer.

and if the printer is a wireless printer then you have to setup the connection in between the printer & laptop to work wirelessly.

Won't print in color

Blocked print head nozzles Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles. Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles. After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

"No Black Ink Cartridge" after a new cartridge has been inserted

It sounds like the actual ink sensor has failed. You can check if it has a print head cleaning routine in the software on the computer. Most likely the actual ink sensor has died though, I've seen this many times. Call Brother to confirm, or maybe if it's still under any kind of warranty: 877-276-8437
