I have a FAV6800AWW Maytag washer. The lid lock clicks several times when you try to start the wash cycle. The locked light never comes on and it just sits without starting. I disassembled the left locking switch and cleaned the contacts but I feel the reed switch is not closing to signal the lid lock position. I don't mind replacing the locking switch if I knew it was the problem. I don't want to throw $60 at a piece of junk and not have it work. I'd rather buy new & cut my losses.\r\n Martin Schuck

Its normal for the machine to cycle the lock before starting its cycle. I'm assuming your machine is a bravos style.

You have lost signaling from the Left Hand Lid lock.

The OD code is sent out from the Console main control board when a lid open is not sensed via the signaling from the Left Hand Lid lock for three completed wash cycles.

You are going to need a complete L.H. Lid lock assembly. p/n 25001048 Google for best price.

You have the issue of the Lid Locks no releasing so even after a replacemant L.H. Lid lock assembly (not cheap) you have the root cause issue to troubleshoot.

5th post down you will find the SM and support for the "OP" error code. You have lost signaling thru the Left Hand Lid Lock............DH1200s

I would go into Service Mode and try to unlock the lid latches. Google this

Go to the 5th post down there is a link to the Service Manual. The Service Manual will show you how to get into Service Manual and unlock the lid Locks. If you can't unlock in Service Mode the Service Manual will show you how to release the washer top from thew base to remove your clothes.

Lr error code is locked rotor. Could be a couple different issues.

Could be a lid magnet out of posistion or broken wire from magnetic reed relay in Left Hand Lid Lock.

Locked: Lid has failed to unlock -

make sure nothing from the inside is

Is that the issue? Have the Lid locks failed to release and you can't open the Lid?

Or have the Lid Locks released so you can open the washer lid but the error code LO remains?
