Door is open, latch is closed. Use a screwdriver and place it in the latch. Using the door handle, release the latch while pulling the latch open. Now, close the door.
Sounds like a bad switch on the tailgate. Open your tailgate and look for a switch. When you find it...press it in completely and see if the sensor light goes off. If so, replace it.
Driver side door when you open it beetween the door and the car there wire in the middle all the wire for the window and door look goes truh there check you probably got broken wire in there you open and close that door 1000s time everytime you open and close those wire move and break just open that and repair the broken wire
Had a similar problem... the wiring harness that goes inside the drivers door had a broken wire, hence no power would go to the door locks or the power windows. Check the area where the harness flexes when the door opens and closes.
Hi Guest, I had this problem as well, and found the fix is actually quite easy. My issue was with the door sensor on the drivers door, but it could be any of the door sensors I imagine. The way I checked was by rolling down all the windows and closing all the doors and locking with the remote, engaging the alarm. Next, open each door individually through the rolled down window; if the alarm sounds then the door sensor is working. To fix: First you need to turn off your vehicle. Next, below and to the left of the steering column is a small storage compartment. Open this up and press the sides together, the door should come out. Remove the storage compartment door and reach inside to the left, where you will find the sensor that tells your car if the door is open or closed. Remove the sensor and inside you'll find three pins which have either accumulated grease and grime or have shifted out of position. Clean them off or reposition them so that you have a solid connection and press in the button to check that your lights go off (should take 20 seconds). If the light goes out (make sure you have your dome light positioned to "door") then your problem should be fixed. Hoped this helps you and others!
The only time my doors don't lock with the remote is when a door is open. If your problem is mechanical it wouldn't unlock. Might be a sensor thinking a door is open. Does the other functions with the remote work like rolling the windows down or hitting the lock button flashes the light ? I can't lock my doors from the inside with the remote.
I think something maybe blocking it from closing check really well around the door and near the sensors. If that doesnt work i think a sensor went bad and now wants to stay open. Its like a position sensor tells the door how far to go and when to stop.
I have shaved door handles on a 2000 chevy silverado and the drivers side door just recently stopped opening it seems like its completely locked out and the door is closed so i cannot get to the bolts of the latch assembly when i hit the unlock button it unlocks half way and when you go to open the door it relocks itself even if you manually try to unlock the door and hold the lock forward it still wont open
