Why does it print black pages? It prints a half of a page then it is all black and the next page is all black.
Maybe the inklevel is very very less
Try to print the menu settings page first. Follow the steps found in this link: http://bit.ly/caQvRm. If printing the menus settings page gives you the same result, you may need to clean the charge rollers or you may need to replace it. If printing the menu settings page looks normal, then it's a driver issue. Uninstallation then reinstallation of the printer software may help. For further assistance, don't hesitate to contact Lexmark technical support. Thanks.

1. Make sure that you removed the entire paper jam and that nothing is caught in the fuser assembly (the part that gets hot so make sure it is cooled off first, also do not use anything to dig at anything that might be there try carefully using a tweezer or needle nose pliers to pull it out.
2.Remove the toner cartridge and with a dry cloth or a pencil eraser clean off the contacts on your left when facing the inside of printer and the roller on the bottom can be wiped off to remove excess toner.
3.With toner cart. still out use a dry cloth to wipe the laser print head area located directly above the roller on the bottom of the printer be careful as the metal edges are sharp.
4.If there is a build-up of toner at the entrance of the fuser try gently removing it with a flat blade screwdriver with care.
5.If this doesn't help it may be necessary to replace the toner cartridge itself.
Best Luck

Before printing, the printer checks the paper size. If the paper edge guide is positioned incorrectly, the paper may be fed at an angle. If this happens, the bottom of the paper is therefore at an angle and not perpendicular with the paper feed rollers. This can result in the paper sensor not recognising the real page width as it can only detect a certain amount of the bottom of the paper sheet which is nearest to it.
If only part of the width of the paper is detected, the printer considers that the paper width is less than it actually is. To avoid printing on internal parts of the printer such as paper feed rollers, the printer automatically cuts the image to fit the detected paper width As this phenomenon depends on the paper feeding condition, it can be random.
Reload the paper and make sure it is loaded correctly. All the way to the right and the paper guide correctly adjusted.
