There is a Paper Menu option somewhere in the menus on the op-panel. You need to go to the Paper Type option and change the Paper Type for Tray 1 to plain paper. You can also hit the Select button when you get this message and you will print.

On the left side, near the pichup roller, of the tray there should be a "flag" hanging down in the elips hole. See if it is hanging down or stuck in the "up"position.If so pul it down and the machine should work fine again.

If job prints from the wrong tray or on the wrong paper or specialty media, this is an indication that the operator panel menu settings do not match the media loaded in the tray.

Make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type specified in the printer driver match the paper size and type in the tray.

No response from the original poster as of 6/6/09. Normally, a "Flushing Buffer" message is pointing at a Postscript problem. A quick easy test would be to set the printer for PCL and retry the job. If it works, then you really need to look at the PS print file to find the error. Don

Machine needs to have a new fuser unit fitted.

Likely the engine card is bad. You must replace with a new one, this model of Lexmark will not allow you to remove a card from another used printer and install it. Same goes for the formatter and control panel on the printer. The three components are electronically keyed together the first time the printer is turned on.
