SOURCE: I am having problems bringing my Lenovo Thinkpad up from hibernat

Go the their webiste and make sure you have got all their latest updates.

Try turning the hybernation off and see if the screen behaves correctly when you close and open the laptop.

This can also indicate a motheroard problem. beware... it may stop working at all.. so if you have any data in it that you need, i would suggest purging it on DVDs. and backing up (otherwise you will pay couple hundreed bbucks later for recovery in case the computer deis).

For now, just trun off the hybernation and see if it works.

SOURCE: I have a lenovo Z61t

try going to the device manager and then look for the keyboard and touchpad drivers, right-click on them and click properties, and if they have power management tabs, make sure the option to allow the os to disable the device is Unchecked and the option to allow the device to wake the system if available is selected. save your settings, restart the computer and test the devices after waking up the system from sleep mode the next time. hope it helps

How to take my Lenovo monitor model # 9227-AC1 off safe mode

it is not just a monitor there is PC there,
no PC stated, they work as TEAM. ok.
that being said, 14year old monitors.
no not SAFE but power saver mode,
also called SLEEP MODE to save power losses, (Energy Star and GREEN )
the manual covers this. 9227-AC1 (you missed typing fully this)
'Lenovo ThinkVision L171 9227-AC1 17" LCD Monitor.' AC1 is non USA. this is very old monitor and all have this OLD style internal sleep mode. covered in the manual. circa 2005 old. most this old are dead now from dead CCLF back lamp tubes. but the manual shows push menu key on front then in the OSD MENUS WE THEN FIND sleep timer (clock) Inside the monitor,
http://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/165841/lenovo-l171.html if the PC is silent the monitor goes to sleep. if the PC goes to sleep wiggle the mouse or hit space bar until PC wakes up. if sleep is bad in PC turn sleep off. if PC is dead, then that is wrong. test the monitor in 2nd PC if monitor works there the monitor is ok, and PC1 is bad.

My Toshiba Satellite S75D-A7272 laptop has always had a problem with getting it out of sleep mode. Is there a fix for this?

Sleep or standby mode should allow your computer to conserve energy yet respond quickly to power back on when you need it. Most Toshiba laptops should exit sleep mode if you press a key on the keyboard or use the trackpad mouse. If the lid was closed, opening it should also wake up the computer. If none of these methods work to bring the computer out of sleep mode, you may have a power issue or software glitch. Causes Insufficient power can cause this problem, so try plugging in your Toshiba laptop before attempting to wake it from sleep mode. If this does not immediately fix the issue, your problem is more likely a software issue. If your laptop was shut down incorrectly prior to the sleep mode incident, it may be stuck on a blank screen that makes it appear to be in sleep mode when it actually is trying to start up.
Indications Press the power button for a few seconds to see if your computer will wake up. If it does, the laptop was not truly stuck in sleep mode, but rather went into hibernation mode. If your laptop is truly stuck in sleep mode, you may be able to force a shutdown by holding down the power button, but when you power back up it will move right back into sleep mode. In some cases, the power button may not shut down the computer from this mode at all.
Solution The best way to solve your Toshiba's problem is to completely remove all power from the laptop to ensure a fresh restart. Close the laptop's lid, turn over the unit and remove the battery. Also remove the power adapter cord from both the laptop and the wall socket. Open the laptop lid and press and hold the power button for approximately 20 seconds. This will drain any stored power in the backup battery. Wait a few seconds, then put the battery back in, plug in the laptop and press the power button to turn on the computer. It may start up with an error screen; in this case, select the option to start your computer normally. If the error recurs, start the computer in "Safe Mode" to see if a program running on your computer outside of the basic Windows operating system is causing the problem.
Further Help Sometimes this issue also requires holding down a specific key, such as "F8," when you restart. If the basic power drain and restart process doesn't work, you can use Toshiba's support website to look up further information for your specific model. Just click the "Product support" tab and enter your laptop's model information, then read through the support bulletins listed for your particular Toshiba model. Toshiba also maintains a support hotline at Call us : +1 850-610-1013 https://www.instantprintersupport.com/toshiba-printer-support

Cant get power saving mode off

Step 1:
Sleep Mode b> Sleep mode is primarily used with home computers (desktop computers). Sleep mode is designed to save the current work, programs, and settings of your computer using your computers memory, while using very little power. b> Hibernate Mode b> Hibernate mode is primarily used with laptop's. Hibernate mode is designed to save your computers current state on to the hard disk, then turn off your computer to stop using power completely. This mode is usually used when you do not plan on using your laptop for an extended amount of time. Benefits b> Using Hibernate mode is more power-efficient, but files may become fragmented over time by using this mode frequently. Sleep mode does consume more power, but the advantage that Sleep mode has over Hibernate is that it does not take as long to resume your computers former state when you are ready to continue using it.

BACKSPACE KEY, ENTER KEY, NOT WORKING!

Hi Janis552,

Thank you for bringing the problem to my attention. Sounds like the the particular keys you mentioned is not working anymore. One way to test the issue is to log to the BIOS menu. Turn off the computer and wait for 10 secs. Turn on the computer and keep on tapping F1 or F2 to go to BIOS menu. Once you are inside the Bios menu test the keys that you mentioned if they will react. If there is no reaction to the keys then the problem is the keyboard itself. You need to repalce the keyboard. You may call Lenovo tehc support at 18774536686

Thanks!

I cant access facebook site in my internet explorer that i have upgraded to IE -8 till i cant access facebook.Reason showing is no pinging to the ip

1) Turn off your anti-virus for a moment and see if problem persists.
And then check anti-virus parental controls and see if they are set to block access to certain websites.

2) Re-start computer, and start pressing F8 key as computer restarts.
This will take you to screen asking if you want to start in safe mode.
Select yes, and select safe mode with internet connection.
When computer starts, then open IE8 and see if Facebook opens.
This will tell you if a program is interfering with access.
Then restart computer again and let it restart normally, to return to ordinary operation. Takes 10 minutes.

3) Go to start > Run > type in msconfig > click enter key > system configuration utility opens. Go to startup tab, and uncheck all boxes (do not uncheck boxes under Services tab).
Restart computer and then try IE8 again.
On the restart, your anti-virus might not automatically open, so click on desktop icon to start antivirus.
If facebook opens, then you can go back to msconfig and one-by-one put checkmarks back into boxes and then re-start to identify suspect program.

4) Go to start > Run > type in prefetch > click enter key > box opens > delete contents of box. These are temp files.
Go to start again > run > type in %temp% > click enter key > delete contents of box. If contents will not delete, then re-start computer and try to delete again, if contents will still not delete, start computer in safe mode and then delete contents of %temp% folder while in safe mode. Restart normally.
Open IE8 > go to tools > internet options > general tab > delete browsing history, cookies and all content.
Then try facebook again.
Takes about 15-25 minutes.

5) You are using IE8 browser. You can use more than 1 browser. I have 2 on my computer. Download Firefox browser and see if problem runs across browsers. I use Firefox as primary browser. Or you can download Google Chrome
Try the other browsers to see if problem is unique to your IE8 browser. Takes about 10 minutes.

6) Do a system restore back to date and time when you knew IE worked correctly. Back up your files to be safe. Go to start > all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore. Follow prompts. Takes about 18 minutes.

7) Back up all documents, photos, favorites, contacts, and make a full list of all passwords. List all your programs, and important information. Save all information on 2 different external drives, and/or at Mozy on-line storage. Set up a g-mail account and write down the password and check it twice and e-mail list to yourself with passwords etc.
Then re-install operating system.
Open g-mail and retrieve your list.
Takes 1 full day, and you need operating disk and drivers.

I am unable to access the internet from sleep mode Can only get on internet from shut down mode

Three possible causes of sleep mode. first, an extensive screensaver with password lock prevents display. A condition that is observable as a blankscreen also known as sleep mode. Second, a computer power saver settings that shutsdown during idleness. Third, An improper shut down of the computer would have caused a sleep mode to save the system data files.

Restoring the computer to regular functionalioty

First solving predictable sleep mode settings
1. A movement of mouse pointer across the screen should reestablish unprotected password modes
a. password protected sleep mode would display an promp message requiring key code soon after the mouse pointer has changed direction

sloving unpredictable sleep mode settings
1.A computer power saver, screen saver, or splash screen displays prevnting programs acess would require manually powering off the computer system.
a. A manual power back on of the system should restore to program functionality mode

Sleep Mode Lockup on Dell Inspirion 530 w/ Vista

Try hitting the "Windows" key on your keyboard to bring it out of sleep mode. The "Windows" key is generally found on the bottom row of the keyboard, near the Alt and Ctrl keys, and it has no letters on it, just the Windows logo. That key brings my Windows Vista machines out of sleep mode when other keys won't.

As for the power button, anytime you need to force a computer to turn off, you can press and hold the power button to do so. Usually, you need to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and it will shut down. Use this option with caution, as it turns the computer off without running through the shutdown process and can cause you to lose data.

Hope this helps.
