Monitor goes into sleep mode

Just to check, do you have any power settings enabled? If you right click the desktop and go to properties, then screensaver, then power settings, look for hibernation and options to turn off the monitor after a certain amount of time. Maybe one of these settings got checked.

Hp f1703

welcome to first time English dot com ! really ! this is texting, it's what ever you want. so you have a dead monitor? does the OSD work. that is first, OSD if the ON SCREEN display fails the monitor power pack is dead or the monitor is dead, monitor schematics can be hard to find but 1second google search and i see this. learn to use google? https://www.manualslib.com/manual/803893/Hp-Pavilion-F1703.html?page=18#manual no symptoms posted, or full English , here ill use google translate for you (so can you, dig?) OMG the Spanish actually has facts. "THANKS FOR ME AND FORGIVEN FOR MY ENGLISH !! P.S. It takes a second to turn black and it seems that something causes excess consumption (low voltage 3 V.), then it is dark and the minute goes to amber, the led." What does OSD do. did you know a monitor is only $50 at walmart. id bet it costs way more to fix any monitor than that. parts, labor, shipping and bam broke. the monitor is covered here 100% but no schematics. sorry. https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-17-inch-Flat-Panel-Monitors/472527/model/324214 read the words, my monitor is blank there? it tells you step by step what to do. well advised to read that or translate it. the monitor has 4 buttons on the right 1,2,3,4 button 1 is OSD menu, this must work all the time with power on. even with no PC connected. it works. if not the power supplies inside the monitor are dead. or the power pack is dead, if it has external pack we test that next. this monitor has LCD back lamp CCFL with inverter. CCFL or well known to die fast or go dim or ugly yellow. Id put this think in the trash and get a LCD with LED black lamps in a heart beat. and never look back to CCFL junk again. IMO id did not read your manual for you, just skimmed it, but if it has a power pack id check that first. then with CCFL (they sold the monitor over 17 years ago) IF the screen goes back, we use a FLASH light, on the screen and if you now see DATA of any KIND< the CCFL is bad. in non geek that is "BAD BACK LAMPS" and supplies to it. as seen here, ( if this works the back lamps are toasted) http://pcdied.com/flash-glow-magic.JPG

I lost my word processing icon during a power outage. How do I get it back?

Go to microsoft office--> microsoft office tools--> microsoft office picture manager--> help--> detect and repair--> check restore my shortcuts while repairing. This should restore all the microsoft office shortcuts. I have been guilty of locating the program file, creating a shortcut to it, and cutting and pasting the shortcut to the desktop. Although it works, it is not pretty! The aforementioned solution is preferable.

Why is my HP 2011x monitor keep shutting off?

Here's some tricks I would try... 1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor. 2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor. 3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on. 4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works). 5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord. 6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced. 7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Hi there i am having

Components assembled in China are rated for 1000 Hrs. and 85C. Using a Fluke 16 or other Capacitor tester; you will find that the Video Controller has blown SMD Caps. You can get these passive components at Digikey.com. Be very careful when soldering these in. This will solve your problem. I also drill several additional holes in the heat shield and back cover to help dissipate heat from the inverter board. If you are not technically savy in component testing I would recommend purchasing a different model /monitor.

Monitor works only in safe mode

graphics problem on your desktop is malfuctioning, after the computer turns on it uses all the drivers for your monitor which if broken or wrongs drivers will cause the display to be blank, when using it in safemode it only loads the basics. try un installing the drivers for your graphics card in safemode, "with command prompts" and let windows download the correct one

Display only in safe mode

It is possible that your computer is not able to start up (normally), e.g. problem with your Windows XP, Windows 7, etc. ... e.g. you see a blinking cursor at the top left corner of your (blank) blue screen. If this is the case, you can try to repair your disk first ... in save mode, get to a DOS prompt, i.e. > You may see options/commands (at the DOS > prompt) by typing HELP. One of the programs that attempts to repair the disk is CHKDSK. Type at the > prompt: CHKDSK /? to see the options Then, run the CHKDSK command to repair the boot disk. After completing the chkdsk, type EXIT (to go back to Windows). If necessary, shut down and power up again and see if the boot disk has been repaired. In the worst case, you may have to restore your disk from backup, or boot from a back-up (boot disk / CD) to fix the boot disk problem. But first try to save/store all your (personal) files (while in SAFE mode) before you reformat the disk and re-install the operating system (from an installation / boot CD disk)

My screen is black and wont power off

replace the cable that goes from your monitor to PC. Especially if you have a powered mini display adapter cable (if you have a video card that supports multiple monitors you will have a mini display powered adapter cable ) these power adapters burn out easily. 2 of mine were defective out of the box, I discovered defect by pure miracle.

WHEN I TRY TO PLAY

a Video card (aka a Graphics card) is a physical component in your computer that renders images and graphics, the higher quality graphics card you have the higher quality of games and images you can play/render.

so what this error means is the graphics card that your computer currently has installed doesn't support a model of shader (think shadows) which is needed to run Sims 3 properly

you can upgrade these cards, but it all depends on other components of your computer as to which would be most suitable for you

if you know anyone with knowledge of computers consult them as it would be free, or otherwise you'll have to have a consultation with a computer technician at your local computer store

hope this helps.
