Samsung mp3 player YP-F1 screen diplay won't turn on-even when fully charged

My MP3 player accidently went through a cycle of the washing machine. When I plug it into the computer the screen on the mp3 player will come up and say that it's charging but if I try to turn it on to play music the screen won't come and it won't turn on. Any suggestions or is it just dead?

    I connected my mp3 to my computer and deleted all of the files and it miraculously turned back on and worked after that. Thanks!

I have samsung yepp YP F1. After full charge, it only appear "loading" and somebody told me to reformat the unit. My question is how do i reformat the unit. thanks - - ronnie

I had this problem. I could charge my samsung yp-f1. I could access and transfer songs while it was connected to my computer. But it would not turn on after it was disconnect from the USB cord. Reformatting works. Thanks for the advice I found here on this site.

Try reseting it and even formating it. It could be as simple as corrupted files.

My samsung mp3 went though the washing machine and wont turn on.
Might be a lost cause, but you could try putting it in a bag of dried rice. Maybe for a day or two. You should have done this right after it came out of the washer so I'm not sure it will do anything. It's worth a try though.

The Samsung YP-F1 has a reset button located under the black Samsung cover plate. It can be gently removed via a finger nail or mini flat blade screwdriver. Once plate is removed a hole labeled reset will be seen. Use something like a paper clip and press in. MP3 will power down/reset. MP3 data is also retained after reset.
