Beleave it or not (not ripley's)

But you printer does back up the black with color WHY?

Ink saving... So the low down here is not only does it need color to work as a whole.. bu this is the way the manufacture gets you to spend you money.

Now the solution above worked for our Beloved expert has not been prove positive in all applications. Sure save money and refill cartridges but also can hurt the printer in the process. I met allot of people in the line witht the new printer in there hand.

I asked them is this your first printer, they are like no its my 3rd a charm. I asked why and they told me that there printer spit out blanks sound like what yours is doing?

do not risk refilled solutions over purchasing another printer.

Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edwy_1a56970cf1ea4620

How can I trick my hp color laserjet 3500 to keep working with one of the ink cartridge empty???

Some printers offer the option of printing in Black only in Preferences so you could try that. Another choice is to remove and reinstall the cartridge as sometimes it will reset. If your black cartridge is empty, the color cartridge can print black for awhile but it is probably more expensive per page to do it that way. If the color cartridge is empty, then it would be probably cheaper to print from only it.

You could also inject so ink with a needle into the empty cartridge then set your printer to not use that cartridge but this can make a mess unless you know how to refill cartridges at home.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

Why can't I print black and white, without colored ink?

I have the same problem & have been searching for weeks for a replacement printer that will print B & W with one or more colors empty. I haven't had any luck yet - I did run across a post that said: For black and white images and photos, a blend of colors called "composite black" may be used to achieve significantly better image quality and smoother gray tones than can be accomplished with black inks alone. I'm still searching...

I have a Lexmark X4650 I refilled the cartridge and now I cannot get the printer to recognize the cartridge it prints black only and tells me Color is low . any suggestions on how to bypass this prob get...

I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I can't refill the Lexmark 36 and 37 cartridges. Your printer deactivates the electronics on this cartridge when the ink levels get low. Your printer needs a black and a color cartridge with functioning electronics to print. I NEVER recommend Lexmark printers. They are poorly made, don't accept refills easily, and have the most expensive ink across manufacturers and it is designed to clog your cartridge unless you use it quickly. If you keep this machine you are stuck buying Lexmark brand ink (the return program cartridges are a little cheaper though).

Ref.: BJC 620 I cannot get true black print, instead I get sort of greenish color where the black shoud be.

Hello, look at what cartridges are being used and what is status indication? There are several things to think about, as follows:

1) Is there a good black cartridge? Many color ink-jet printers will print black using color cartridges if black is out, low, or bad.

2) Can you use a standalone copy mode - if possible for your printer -and get good/correct copy colors (not using the computer)?

2) Have any cartridges been refilled manually? I have done this where I thought I refilled a cartridge with the right color and filled it with the wrong one by accident -oops. Please try different cartridges.

3) Is your printer color problem the same when using any or all programs? If it is and you are sure all the cartridges are OK then use your printer software to reset all the settings to a default factory settings and try again.

Printing not complete

you may check your ink cartridge
1) the cartridge some color almost empty, need to change a new one or refill the match color ink. test it and go next if not fixed
2) long time less using cause some color ink chanel(holes) dryer, you may take out the color ink cartridge and put it's surface of bottom (just touch ) in the clean water 1 Hr, then set back and test it. still not fixed, you also need to do same thing if your print head is separated from your ink cartridge

Pixma MP610 - fab machine - only problem is that the large of the black cartridges empties - never uses the smaller one (No 5) why? It refuses to print if the No 8 is empty. What do I need to do please?

The large of the black cartridge (5) is for ordinary paper in printing menu of computer. Selecting photo paper uses only the small black cartridge (8) and the color cartridges are used to make black even for gray black printing. Choosing ordinary paper, you can print in black 10 even 20 times with the large black cartridge (5) (by refilling and quoted as empty) . You simply need to press a long time the hold button, as explained in the manual on the printer CD, to continue to print with an empty cartridge. (at least in Europe)
The color cartridges are slightly used even when printing only in black and become empty, even if you never use the colors!

Epson C66 won't print without color cartidges

epson printers won't really print if one cartridge is not detected or detected as empty. the only option that i can suggest to you is that, buy a continous ink kit at any ink refilling station in your place. i highly recommend that dont leave a cartridge empty with ink cause it might clog your printhead. using a continous ink system's cartridge is auto reset, whenever the printer says that the cartridge is empty, it will automatically resets itself. ink refill kit comes with 100+ml of ink per color i think. and it is much cheaper using original epson ink.
