When the air is turned on it works fine at first, but then a few hours later just warm air comes out of the floor registers. I went out and looked at it and the fan was not running. It seems if you leave it for a few hours and then turn it back on it works great for a bit then the warm air again.
You might have dirty coil so unit shut off on high head pressure. Clean your condenser coil and see what happens.
There may be other issue with your unit but cleaning the coil is a start
Bad fan motor

Call in the technicians
compressor shutting down or power to the fan being interrupted causing the compressor to shut down
SOURCE: Goodman compressor cuts off when temp too high
When the condenser coil is dirty come high pressure and cut out the compressor, you can wash with the garden hose around the condenser coil before disconect the unit for prevent any electrocution or the sistem is overcharged
SOURCE: heat pump not running
check your house circuit breakers first that should be labeled heatpump or outdoor unit
make sure it is on and or not tripped
then if you have a box outside near the outdoor unit open it up and see if there is a breaker or maybe fuses that could be blown
SOURCE: 2 weeks ago one of my units stopped working
sounds like the coils inside the air handler/furnace are freezing up. likely cause is the freon charge is incorrect (probably undercharged). it may have been correct when the tech did the work but some may have leaked out. it is slightly possible too that the system is overcharged. you should have the system pressure verified, and then have it checked for leaks.
SOURCE: Blowing hot air, compressor not kicking on, just fan ? ?
are you speaking of the outside fan or inside? compressor should be a little warm but not boiling hot. the unit could be low on freon. if low it will run a while but the compressor will overheat and shut off leaving the fan running by itself ouside. if nothing outside is running check power. if you have power check the contacted outside to make sure it's pulled in. contacters are bad about going out on goodman untis. Also ants can get under contacts.

The brown wire goes to the capacitor. It probably shorted out with the nicked wire. Replace the capacitor.
