How to type a tilde over the n on a logitech keyboard

To make a lowercase ? in the Microsoft Windows operating system, hold down the Alt key and type the number 164 or 0241 on the numeric keypad (with Num Lock turned on). To make an uppercase ?, press Alt-165 or Alt-0209. Character Map in Windows identifies the letter as "Latin Small/Capital Letter N With Tilde".

How to change numeric to words

If you mean special characters like for the yen sign ¥ or the Spanish ?, then the way to do this is by holding the ALT key followed by a number sequence.
You might be talking about the special or Fn keys. Sometimes people accidentally hit this key on the laptop and change their letters to words. Getting rid of the num lock on this depends on the model of the laptop, but it's usually turned off by using the Fn key + an icon that symbolizes num lock on your laptop, which you'd have to find out by going through your laptop's manual.
You might also mean concerting ascii numbers into their counterpart. In which case, there's a way to do this using the python programming language using the chr() function. Where you put the number in between the parenthesis to find out what the corresponding number is.
for example:
chr(97) would yield an 'a'
That's about all the possibilities I could guess your question meant. Hope at least one of them was the right one.

Hi, I bought a HP Pavilion dm4 two months ago and it seems that it doesn't contain a number lock key. I was wondering if there is a way to insert special characters without going to symbols and copy...

If you were to click on start then All programmes. Select Accessories and then character map.
Select a font and then the code you require.
I find since WinXP Alt0189 no longer works properly and use the character map instead.
Hope that helps.

My Compaq laptop keyboard seems to be stuck in ALT mode. All the keys which have an alternate character in the upper right corner, will only type those characters. For example, the "m" key will only type...

Never ran into this problem myself but a friend of mine has. He said what fixed his what holding Fn + Num Lock and it remedied his problem.
Unless your key is stuck/broken you can also try a can of air and try to blow it out and or pull the key and make sure its not stuck down.
But deff try the holding Fn + Num Lock method first.

Dell D600 Latitude laptop. Spanish characters when using ALT key and a # do not work. Suggestion?

Go to Programs/Accessories/System Tools and click on Character Map. You will need to do a cut and paste of the character from there. Laptop keypads don't support the Alt# sequence for inserting characters like a conventional keyboard does.

U need to change ur keyboard configuration, go to: Control Panel Clock, Language and Region Change keyboards or other input methods Click at Change Keyboards Add an spanish language (idk which one u will prefer, i use mexican) Then change ur default keyboard to it.
Ahora eso es si quieres cambiar tu idioma principal a español, if u dont and just need a character, use the ASCII code:
Press and hold ALT + 164 for ñ and 165 for ñ
