I would like to know how old this dishwasher is? Mod HDA2000Z05WH and serial is SV826876Y. Would the wheels coming off bottom rack cause the motor to burn up causing washer to not work. There is a hard cap over something in the left corner on the bottom . Imwould like to know what is under that cap?

SOURCE: I have a hotpoint built in automatic dishwasher

make sure the arm on top isnt hitting something, each time you load it each in there and spin it to be sure it moves freely, also make sure your rinse agent container is full of rinse agent.

My Maytag dishwasher is 9 years old-- Model number MDB7100AWW, serial number 27754072ZQ It has worked fine until about a month ago, when I began noticing a kind of "scum" on the silverware and some of...

Using a light lubricant, you might place a drop or two of oil on the upper rack's rail wheels or the bottom if either squeaks when pulled out. Take a look at the wheels on each rack (up and lower) to see if either is damaged or is not rolling properly on the rails. There's nothing to explain the "scum" other than the water coming into the machine....Cascade is a good brand and a minimal amount is needed for each load. The CUP located in the door of most machines will hold about twice what's required to clean a load of dishes, pans, etc. Cascade has a RINSE AGENT included in its manufacture. Be sure to rinse your dishes well before loading. Try different settings and see if it makes a difference.
If you have the time, take the lower rack completely out, when the machine is cold and the water has been pumped out of the chamber. With your fingers, feel around the bottom-center, check for debris, forks or other objects that can sometimes collect under the lower plate and under the drying element.
There's little to speak of, dishwashers are merely "boxes with spinning hoses and a drying element" so any liquid "coming-into" the wash-cycle is a function of your local water supply and plumbing. Sometimes "hard" water causes a "scum" and people will use softeners which are installed outside and will "clarify" water before inputting into your house. That would be a last resort.

My kitchenaid dishwasher has a bottom rack allignment problem. Especially when it is fully loaded the right rear pair of wheels often slips down off the bottom track and makes rolling the loaded rack...

Hello. If you have a new rack and new wheels the only fix to your problem is to either replace the dishwasher all together or NOT put as many items in the bottom rack. I am always bothered when anyone tells me they were sold a new rack because they are so expensive [usually over one hundred dollars] and generally once the racks start to go, the rest of the dishwasher is not far behind. j.

TOP RACK NOT CLEANING DISHES

Possible that the motor impeller has good particles in it, causing poor water pressure, which would be most evident on the top rack. You would have to remove the spray arm, then the filter, then the torx screws to get at impeller....unfortunately, that model of dishwasher isn't the greatest in the first place for washing, since it only has the one spray arm.

Dishes on top rack do not come out clean. Bottom rack O.K.

Have you tried cleaning the filter? We had a similar problem. The repair man came and removed all the spinners and the other stuff at the bottom above the motor to get to the filter. It was blocked with all kinds of old food bits and pieces, the odd bit of plastic film etc. He cleaned it, replaced it and we havn't had a problem since but he said it needs to be done about every two years. It can be done by someone who has reasonable DYI skills.

Rust spots on bottom rack

You may need to replace the rack. Dishwasher soap is aggressive and once an area is exposed, it will rust fast. Make sure you don't place sharp objects in direct contact with a rack. The action inside the washer can cause them to move and rub through the metal rack coating.

LG modelLD-1403W dishwasher. The bottom spray arm

The wheels on the bottom rack could be broken or collapsing..or the rack is distorted or bent..or the spray arm is not attached correctly or is damaged.

Not cleaning on top rack. Pump, fill tube asm. & spray clean. Has any seen if this issue could be the deverter motor in the pump or the control board?

Just to review, the LG dishwasher family, including the LDS5811 has the Verio motor and the check valve that diverts water from the bottom rack to the top rack.

If the valve is blocked/jammed, this would cause the symptom you describe. The valve is visible from inside the DW after you open it up.

It is also possible that this motor has failed.

My dishwasher is not washing dishes on the top rack...

HI,

The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm.
Assuming the top spray arms are clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm to access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter (accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken (broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary . If the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly . Remove any debris from the sump area in the process.
You don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more comfortable, do so.

Our Maytag dishwasher, mod MDB9150AWS, has abad lower rack due to rust and prongs coming loose. Maytag sent me a replacement BUT without the center spray tower. It looks like trouble to remove the old...

Yes, I resolved the problem after thoroughly studying the assembly. It was relatively simple; all I had to do was turn the spray tower 90 degrees and it came free of the rack.

Thanks for the web site, nonetheless.
