Flashing "Washing" light on my frigidaire 1000 series dishwasher
Possible solution. I had the same problem of "washing" light flashing last year and now today. Warranty has been expired for awhile, so no harm in trying. What worked for my situation was removing the six screws for the back of the plastic control cover. Take of the plastic cover. There are are two connectors to the HANDLE with white and black wires. To be safe I would shut off the ciruit to the dishwasher. Safety first. Carefully disconnect and inspect the contacts inside the connectors. Do not insert any metal objects if you left the power on. I believe that the moisture from the dishwasher can degrade the connectivity. I cleaned the contacts with q-tips and re-installed. Be careful to not bend the contacts. If you had sound, you could hear my dishwasher running. Total cost is about three cents. I believe that the connectors do not full close when corroded, which prevents the completion of the circuit to the controlls. The flashing light indicates that the door is open, when in fact it is closed. Hopefully this will help someone. Semper Fi
What makes the washiing light flash and not start?
Good Afternoon Angela, thanks for your post!
From the information you have provided the washing light flashes and it will not start on your Frigidaire dishwasher. This could be a possible issue with your keypad or control panel. I would suggest performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by disconnecting power from your dishwasher for roughly ten minutes. If that does not correct your issue I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper repairs to be completed. Best of luck! -Matt
The code er is on display
Hi friend, thank you for the post!
The code ER on a Frigidaire dishwasher stands for a membrane switch failure. Generally that means that the main control board has detected a stuck key or a key pressed in for more than a minute. Some possibilities that could be causing this problem are a wiring issue or main control board. A step you could try would be to reset your appliance, which is disconnecting power by unplugging it or flipping the household breaker for ten minutes. If that does not resolve the issue I would recommend having a technician come out to your home and repair your appliance. -Matt
What year is ser#TH73779721
Hello Friend, that's a great question!
According to the serial number listed above, I show that your Frigidaire dishwasher (FDB1050RE) was produced in 2007. Hope this helps! - Z
What is the ball valve for?
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand you want to know what the ball valve is for, in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# FDB1050RE. In your particular appliance, I don't show that there should be a ball valve. I show that there is a "check ball" in the sump, which controls and switches water flow between the spray arms. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if you have further questions. Hope this is helpful.
-Best regards-

Follow up to my Jun 02, 2008 post. We had a service tech come out
today, and it turned out that the door switch was bad. The
neutral side had continuity with the door shut, but the hot side was
sporadic. A new switch has been ordered.
According to the Frigidaire tech sheet attached to the door, which is
located beneath the control panel and behind the door skin, the problem
could potentially be a bad control panel also.
Hope this helps someone in the future!
Long cycles
Hello Shawn, thank you for your question!
If your dishwasher is taking too long to complete a cycle, first you need to make sure the water is 120F at the sink. If water is less than 120F it causes a delay in the performance and advancement of the timer until proper water temperature is reached. Run the sink to its hottest point, start a "pots and pans wash cycle". If that cycle runs over 4 hours, then I recommend reaching out to a service technician since more than likely the issue lies with the control board. If it runs under 4 hours it is possibly fine, it is only heat delays causing it to run so long.
Hope this helps!
Top rack not cleaning and spray arm possibly not moving
I removed the lower arm, the strainer, and three screws (Torx, but I used small allen wrench). I took of the pump cover, and found a small white ball blocking the tube that goes to the top rack sprayer. I put everything back except the ball. It has worked well ever since.
Dishwasher's green clean light is on, it will not
Good Morning Emma, thank you for your post!
Let's try resetting the dishwasher by either unplugging it
or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important
to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn dishwasher back on. Confirm that the
door is properly latched and try selecting a cycle. If resetting the power does
not correct the issue, it could potentially mean a number of things: a
potential wiring failure, damaged cord, faulty door latch assembly, pump or
control board. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes,
I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the
appliance.
