Model #MDB6650AWB, I have power to the dishwasher

I had this problem. Started out intermittent when shutting the door. Opened up the door (6 or so screws on the inside door) thinking it was the latch switch, however I noticed a large blue component dislodged from its solder hoot (single sided PCB). Pushed the lead back in and re soldered it. Saved a lot of money and time on a new controller.

Maytag model dwu9200aax

The top spinner part can simply be pulled off by grasping it near its hub and pulling downward. Push it back on and push in the locking clip in the center. The bottom spinner can be removed, First unscrew the center column. Hold the spinner with one hand, turn the base of the center column counter clockwise. Then lift column off. Then the spinner should lift off of the keyed white plastic base. Underneath it, on the neck off of which you lifted it, are two plastic washers that form a seal (supposedly). Good to clean these to make spinner rotate freely, but be careful not to break them taking them off. If you want to go farther in, there is the point of a strange shaped plastic nut sticking up into the base of the column. If you remove this, and the 6 torx screws holding the strainer cap, you can get it all out to clean it up (I had bits of plastic bag in the slots of a 4-armed thing that apparently sprays the filter screen), and scrub the washer in the bottom. Remarkably yucky down there in a 10 year old installation...

The dishwasher is not getting power to the inlet

hello
The door switch is also in line with this circuit.Check that first.Door switch needs to close for anything to work.It provides power to control board as well.
Check for voltage at door switch single black wire to make sure you didn't blow circuit breaker.
If ok then check continuity of switch with power OFF. there should be continuity between black terminals. Also check continuity between white terminals . If thats ok , then make sure the switch is physically closing. Really suspecting the switch here.

Hope this was helpful

Detergent builds up and one side of the top rack

Hi

If the water inlet valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Noise from the bottom during wash cycles, If this

Hello,
IF it is the motor yes it may very well better off getting a new dishwasher..the cost of the part would be appx. $ 175 plus labor and service to charges for a service company to install it..so it may be as much as $300-350
However their are any number of possible things that could be making the noise, such a cherry pit,a piece of broken glass,i small object that entered the tub from the countertop above the dishwasher or so many more thing caught in the pump and rubbing on the wash/drain impeller..so it would be a good idea to take apart the pump asm. first to see if some object may be caught, before replacing d/w

You can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.
If soaking or cleaning with vinegar works then try adding some to each cycle to see if the clarity of the glasses improves.

No lights are on and

Hi,

When there is no display at all that is typically a bad control board, not touch-pad. I am not there, so anything I say must be verified by you making proper inspections of wiring, etc. to ensure that you don't buy an unneeded part. The touchpad can be tested, but it is a very cumbersome process; the tech sheet that is behind the toe grill has the directions for doing so. I have never done it- I see enough of these to know what is typically bad.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Rust spots on bottom rack

You may need to replace the rack. Dishwasher soap is aggressive and once an area is exposed, it will rust fast. Make sure you don't place sharp objects in direct contact with a rack. The action inside the washer can cause them to move and rub through the metal rack coating.

Dishwasher makes a loud noise when the drain cycle starts

When you say you have checked for blockages, have you taken things apart down to the impeller? If not, recommend you look at this diagram to help get to that point looking for stuff that is broke or blocked.

If that does not fix it, post back here and we will look at the motor parts 'n stuff.

Dishwasher will not drain

Have you had a new disposer installed lately? If so was the plug in the disposer, where the dishwasher drain line hooks up, knocked out? Seen this many many times. More solutions available if this is not the problem.

Does not seem to be getting power

The most common reason for a dishwasher to go dark like this is the door latch. From the wiring diagram, there appears to be two door switches on the unit, which must both be closed for the dishwasher to have any power. They are probably both in the actual door latch. Recommend that you confirm the latch is "latching " properly ... or manually close both switches and see if the DW lights up!

Dishwasher spray arm.

There is no lubricant or adhesive that you need to put down. However if you removed that seal around the motor shaft you will need to replace it with a new one. Once that seal is broken it won't sit right again. When you buy a new dishwasher motor or heater it comes with that seal new cause it won't go back on again right. Dishwashers are a real pain to work on, they have so many little parts and so many picky parts that it just makes them a pain to work with. What ever you do just never buy yourself a Bosh. The way they built those, they can only be worked on by taking the entire machine apart to the floor. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm here to help.

Grinding noise - Maytag dishwasher MDB7100

I suspect something hard like a fragment of chicken bone or a citrus seed is at the inlet to the drain pump (my favorite was a plastic pull strip from a frozen juice concentrate can - that was LOUD). Many dishwashers have a chopper similar to that in a garbage disposal right before the pump inlet, but some things like bone won't go through it. It could be something light enough to float and only hits the pump when the water level drops. You may have to remove the pump cover in the bottom of the dishwasher to find it. This would be a good time to clean any garbage out of the lower spray arm and check the spray arm bushing for excess wear.
