The dryer only runs while holding down the start button

It may be the centrifugal switch on the motor. The push button starts the motor and as the motor spins up to speed the centrifugal switch closes to keep the motor running. Hope this helps.

with this combination of problems it sounds like a power problem on the control board being you have more than one problem,it sounds as though you arn't getting a latch voltage at the relay energizing coils that latch the relays to power the motor and element

if you have to hold down the start button to keep it running then the motor is shot-mike

ok open the dryer door look for a button inside where door shuts against hold that button down with other hand spin the dryer have some one push start button let it run for a sec then shut door and it should start

POST MODEL NUMBER, BUT IT MAY BE THE MOTOR START SWITCH.

Ok you are really not that ignorant, all dryers shut off when you open the door and no holding down the button won't make it work.

Switch on fan motor not working sw must prove that fan is running! bad motor sw or loose wireing motor sw will by pass start button is released if working!

Your start botton wore out inside. You can change it. Please note to connect wire exactly as the old one.
