Look for bad connections and poor solder joints first, then look for bad caps (leaking/bulging tops)

I have an Acer AL 1914 Monitor. Green light

Check power supply section for bad caps first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed ACER monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor Acer Al 1914, no signal

Check your connections to the PC. Make sure that they are nice and secure. If there is a resolution problem setting it should display the boot process and then go blank after starting the operating system.

Monitor times out and wont come back on.

Try this settings:
  • Click on Start | Control Panel | Power Options.
  • In the Power Option properties window, click on the Power Schemes Tab
  • Set the Turn off Monitor/ Turn off Hard Disks option when on Power (and also Battery for laptop users) to Never.
  • Now click on the Save as... button and assign a name to this power scheme... Let us call it 'Presentation' and then click on OK.
  • That's it congrats!

    Screen Display

Some monitors have multiple settings. For example, mine has digital and anolog setting. If it is on digital, it will do exactly the problem you are saying, try finding a button on the monitor called source, or something along those lines.
